Son paralyzed by dad’s beating
KUWAIT CITY, April 4: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint at Al-Wahab Police Station against her husband, a compatriot in his 40s, who allegedly beat their son and caused the latter’s paralysis.
The mother told police her husband beat their son as he got fed up with the behavior of the latter. The child is now confined at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Jahra Hospital as he sustained serious injuries. Sources added the child will be paralyzed for the rest of his life due to the severe beating he suffered in the hands of his own father.
Asian’s death probed: A 62-year-old Asian died of unknown causes recently in Murghab.
The Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior dispatched securitymen and paramedics to the location immediately after receiving information about a person lying unconscious on the ground in Murghab. Paramedics quickly referred the victim to Amiri Hospital but he died before reaching the hospital. His remains were referred to Forensics to determine the actual cause of death.
Jordanian dies in fall: A 57-year-old Jordanian died when he fell from the fourth floor of a building at an undisclosed location recently. Paramedics and securitymen rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident. They referred his remains to Forensics and investigations are underway to determine the actual circumstances that led to his fall.
Pakistani hurt in fight: A Pakistani suffered from head injuries after engaging in a public brawl with his Iranian co-worker at a construction site in Saad Al-Abdullah.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location immediately after receiving information about the fight. Initial investigations revealed the two laborers had a heated argument over their wages, but the argument escalated into a fistfight. The Iranian hit the Pakistani in the head, causing injuries to the latter.
Paramedics took the Pakistani to Jahra Hospital, while the Iranian was referred to Taima Police Station for further interrogation and other necessary legal action.
Man suffers broken nose: An unidentified man, in his 30s, got a fracture in his nose after engaging in a public brawl with some youths in Sulaibiya Saturday.
Eyewitnesses revealed the youths had a heated argument with the man, and this escalated into a fistfight. The man suffered from a fracture in his nose and he was referred to Jahra Hospital.
A case was registered in Sulaibiya Police Station and investigations are ongoing to arrest the youths involved in the fight.
Kuwaiti found drunk: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti for consuming alcohol in Salmi with four bottles of liquor in his possession.
Security sources revealed the Kuwaiti called an undisclosed police station, claiming the members of the demolition team tasked to remove illegal structures are disturbing him. When police arrived at the scene, they found out the Kuwaiti was under the influence of alcohol, so they arrested him.
Members of the demolition team revealed the Kuwaiti tried to stop them from removing his tent despite a notice from Kuwait Municipality, urging owners to remove the tents before April 1. When the team arrived at his house to remove the tent, he threatened to call the police.
Cash stolen from cars: Two youths have lodged a complaint at Sulaibiya Police Station against unidentified persons who allegedly stole KD 850 cash from their cars, which were parked in front of the Central Jail.
The complainants told police they were surprised when they went out of the Central Jail after visiting their relatives as the windows of their cars were broken. They immediately checked the contents of their vehicles and discovered that the thieves carted away KD 850.
Criminal Evidence Department personnel lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits and investigations are underway to arrest the thieves.
