Brothers in drug trade: In compliance with directives issued by the Anti Narcotics Chief Brigadier Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Khalifa, security operatives arrested a military personnel and his brother, who is jobless, in possession of 1.5 kilogram of hashish, 70 bottles of imported liquor, unlicensed weapon, and KD 4,000 believed to be proceeds from a week’s drug business.
Sheikh Al-Khalifa got wind of activities of the military personnel and assigned an active unit supervised by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Al-Huzaim and his assistant Major Mohammad Qabazard to carry out preliminary investigations.
The unit verified suspicion, and they set a trap for the suspect through an undercover agent, who approached the man as a prospective buyer of a quarter kilogram of hashish for KD 450. A team led by Captain Mohammad Al-Qabandi arrested the suspect, immediately after the deal was completed at Sabah Al-Salem area, as the detective paid the item with marked currency.
Meanwhile, the officers showed the suspect a warrant to search his residence and apartment, so he obliged. However, they were shocked when he suddenly pointed a gun at them, but they overpowered him immediately.
They met the suspect’s brother inside the house, searched him and recovered a quarter kilogram of hashish, while an additional half kilogram of the same item was found inside the military personnel’s room. A further search inside the military personnel’s car led to discovery of 70 bottles of imported liquor and KD 4,000 cash.
