Suicide bid by ‘mentally ill’ female Kuwaiti citizen foiled Ex-husband assaults woman
KUWAIT CITY, April 1: A 20-year-old Kuwaiti citizen, believed to be mentally retarded, was rescued after she threatened to throw herself from the roof of her family residence in Ishbylia.
Acting on a distress call the Operations Room received about the episode, security operatives and paramedics were promptly dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, the officers managed to seize the woman before she could jump from the building, when all attempts to convince her to give up the plan proved futile.
Ex-wife assaulted: A Kuwaiti wom-an in her 30s filed a case with police officers in Rehab against her ex-husband who assaulted her.
The woman narrated she had a minor disagreement with the ex-husband, which resulted in the man physically assaulting her. She supported her claim with a medical report, and the bruises and abrasions she sustained in the process. Security operatives summoned the suspect for interrogation, and registered a case against him.
Bedoun stabbed in fight: A Bedoun in his 20s was rushed to Farwaniya Hospital with a stab injury in his back on Wednesday evening.
Sources say the victim got into a fight with a Kuwaiti in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area and the latter stabbed him.
Securitymen arrested the Kuwaiti and referred him to authorities. Sources say investigations are going on.
Indian, Arab expat fight: An Indian expatriate suffered a deep cut on his head and a suspected fracture in his right hand during a fight he had with an Arab expatriate in Hadiya area Wednesday evening.
Securitymen arrested the Arab expatriate while paramedics referred the Indian to Al-Adan Hospital, say sources.
Wanted man nabbed: Securitymen arrested a Bedoun, who was wanted in a criminal case and was sentenced to imprisonment, in Hassawi area Wednesday night.
The suspect, who is in his 30s, was sitting in a car parked in the parking lot of a school in the area. When securitymen approached him, he said his car had broken down. On checking data, securitymen realized his wanted status and referred him to authorities.
KD 25,000 worth wires stolen: Jahra securitymen arrested a non-Kuwaiti youth for stealing copper cable and other electric equipment from project sites and seized stolen materials worth KD 25,000 from him.
The youth was caught with 35 copper cables and other electric equipment while driving near Sulaibiya area. He confessed that he stole several items. Securitymen referred the youth to authorities.
