KUWAIT CITY, March 30: All labor departments have been asked not to accept any transaction related to issuing of work permits or transferring residences of expatriates from March 30 until April 4 pending the implementation of an automation project at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, reports Awan daily.
Assistant Undersecre-tary for Labor Sector Mansour Al-Mansour, who issued a directive to this effect on Monday, said labor departments will handle only transactions related to final exit and work permits of fresh recruits.
Al-Mansour said the decision is aimed at completing all the existing transactions as per the old system and helping these departments receive new transactions in the new automated system.
