Youth stabbed, left for dead on road Dust kills Asian
KUWAIT CITY, March 28: A GCC youth was found in a pool of blood with several stab wounds in different part of his body near a crossing between Waha and Oyoun recently.
Three youths, who allegedly noticed the victim while passing through the area, rushed him to Jahra Hospital and he is said to be in a serious condition.
Security officers believe that whoever stabbed the victim tried to kill him, considering the severity of his injuries. Sources disclosed he is a drug addict released from prison recently, after serving a jail term imposed on him for his involvement in a drug-related case.
Security men took samples of the victim’s blood to determine if he has been consuming drugs. Police have also started interrogating the youths who took the victim to the hospital.
High-ranking security officials later arrived at the hospital to supervise the whole operation, while a large number of policemen were deployed to watch over the victim.
Girl still missing: A Kuwaiti man in his 30s filed a case at Ardiya Police Station reporting the disappearance of his 19-year-old daughter two days ago. He told securitymen that the girl left the house after having a fight with him and her mother and did not return since then. The man said her mobile has been switched off and she is not at any of her friends or relatives’ place. A case was registered and securitymen are looking for the girl.
Friendship nowadays: A Kuwaiti youth filed a case at Jahra Police Station against his friend alleging that the latter invited him home and when he went, the friend put a weapon on his head and forcibly snatched KD 180 from him.
Investigations are going on and securitymen are trying to arrest the accused.
Burglars hit shop: Burglars broke into a garments shop in Hawalli and escaped with KD 680 and garments worth KD 200 on Saturday.
The Kuwaiti owner of the shop filed a case at Hawalli Police Station and said his employee informed him about the theft. Criminal Evidence Department men lifted fingerprints from the scene and securitymen are investigating the case.
Cabbie with drugs: Securitymen arrested a 34-year-old Asian taxi driver in possession of six narcotic pills on Saturday.
Securitymen found the contraband hidden in his vehicle and referred him to authorities.
Liquor peddlers held: The Ahmadi police during an intensive campaign against violators of law have arrested two Asians for trading in booze, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources police have seized from the two bootleggers 17 bottles of Red Label whisky and 5 bottles of locally-manufactured booze.
During the campaign police have also arrested 20 people wanted by law in connection with civil and criminal felons and three youngsters for reckless driving.
Dust kills Asian: The corpse of an unidentified expatriate, who was found dead among the trees by the roadside in Al-Qairawan has been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Anba daily.
Initial reports show the man died from breathing problems.
