Man attempts suicide in police custody

KUWAIT CITY, March 22: An Arab man detained at Rumaithiya Police Station for absconding tried to kill himself by cutting his wrists Sunday.
A medical emergency team rushed to the location after receiving information about the suicide attempt. They took the Arab to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital.
Initial investigations revealed the sponsor of the Arab filed an absconding case against him and he was in the custody of Rumaithiya police when he attempted to commit suicide.

Woman lives for another day: A 27-year-old Asian woman got a fracture in her right leg when she jumped from the second floor of a building in Mangaf Sunday in an attempt to commit suicide.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after receiving information about the incident. They referred the woman to Adan Hospital.
A case was registered and investigations are in progress to determine the actual circumstances which prompted the woman to try to end her own life.

Car vandalized: A Kuwaiti, in his 30s, lodged a complaint at Al-Sulaibiya Police Station against a person he knows who allegedly destroyed his car which was parked near a cooperative society Sunday.
The complainant told police the suspect smashed the front glass and lights of the car due to a dispute between them earlier. He provided police with a detailed description of the suspect, who will be summoned for questioning to verify the complainant’s claim.

Company’s warehouse hit: A Lebanese employed at a company in Fahaheel has filed a complaint at Fahaheel Police Station against unidentified persons he accused of stealing electric equipment worth KD 870 from a store owned by the company.
According to the complainant, he was surprised to find the door of the store broken when he reported for work Sunday morning. He checked the contents of the store and found that electric equipment worth KD 870 was stolen. Criminal Evidence Department personnel lifted fingerprints to identify the thieves.

School items stolen: An Egyptian guard employed at a school in Waha notified the security authorities about some identified persons who allegedly stole electric equipment from the school Sunday. Criminal Evidence Department personnel rushed to the location after the Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) received information about the theft. They lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspects.

Duo held with pills, liquor: Securitymen arrested two Kuwaitis in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Sunday for the possession of four narcotic pills and two bottles of local alcohol.
While patrolling the area, the security officers noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they asked the driver — a Kuwaiti — to pull over for routine inspection. When police approached the vehicle, the driver and his companion — also a Kuwaiti — looked confused, prompting the securitymen to conduct thorough inspection of the car. This led to the discovery of four narcotic pills and two bottles of locally brewed alcohol.
Both Kuwaitis were referred to the authorities for further investigation and other necessary legal action.
