GCC youth, sports undersecretaries meeting concludes

KUWAIT CITY, March 20 (KUNA): The 27th meeting of the undersecretaries for GCC youth and sports concluded on Saturday with assuance of several recommendations including approval of holding a training camp in Finland to sharpen skills of active young citizens.
Deputy Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) Jassem Yaacoub said at a news conference following end of the meeting that several draft resolutions were referred to the 14th GCC sports ministerial meeting, due here tomorrow (Sunday).
The undersecretaries also approved the holding the cultural meeting in Qatar later this year and convening the second meeting of the GCC youth with counterparts of the world in 2012.
They also called for follow-up on implementation of the youth care strategy.
Conferees, furthermore, approved a proposal by Kuwait to set up a website for the GCC sports ministers.
Youth in the GCC states constitute some 60 percent of the populations of these countries.
