MoH puts off payment of increments Expat doctors face one-month wait
KUWAIT CITY, March 20: The Ministry of Health (MoH) has postponed the payment of the newly approved salary increment to Kuwaiti nurses and expatriate doctors until April due to the questionable calculation and allocation of a budget for this purpose, reports Awan daily quoting sources.
Sources disclosed the concerned department has yet to forward the list of beneficiaries to the Finance Department, so it is already late to include the payment in the March salaries. Sources pointed out the ministry has collated the list of expatriate doctors approved by the Civil Service Commission (CSC). Sources said the ministry has specified only three job titles — consultant, senior specialist and specialist. Sources added the concerned officials are still studying the remaining job titles like senior registrar, registrar, practitioner and general practitioner.
Sources confirmed the ministry has coordinated with the CSC to categorize and approve the job titles. Sources stated the list of 700 Kuwaiti nurses has been forwarded to the ministry’s undersecretary for review and approval. “We cannot include the increment in the March salary due to the delayed submission of the list to the Finance Department,” sources added.
