Take Indemnity Before Cancelling Your Residence
I have been working in a private company for the last 14 years. Now I have given my resignation but the company is asking me to cancel the residency first before they provide my indemnity and leave salary. So my question is: Is it possible to cancel my residency and get my benefits afterwards? Can I trust the company. Will they provide all the benefits according to the new labor law? If they deceive me after my residency is cancelled what is the action I can expect from the Ministry of Labour.

Answer: The question here is whether you trust the company because at the Ministry, before your residency is cancelled, you have to sign a form which says you have received your indemnity.
Now if after you have signed the form, the company then backs out of its commitment, you will face a lot of problems proving you have not received the money. So its up to you — if you trust the company to do the right thing you should have no problems as this is done by most firms. But if you have doubts, then ask the company to pay you first before you sign any document.
