162 expats in forged visas row face deportation Wife ‘steals’ furniture

KUWAIT CITY, March 19: The General Immigration Department for Investigation plans to deport 162 expatriates who were illegally listed under the name of an unidentified Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Anba quoting reliable sources.
The same sources said the transactions of these expatriates were completed illegally.
On Wednesday the Department had said the company is eligible to hire 50 people and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor discovered there were 212 expatriates under the sponsorship of the company.
The company owner claimed he has no knowledge about the excess people under the company sponsorship and pointed a finger of accusation at the company’s Jordanian mandoub (company representative).

100 bottles of liquor seized: The Farwaniya police have arrested two Asians for possessing 100 bottles of local booze, reports Arrouiah daily.
According to a security source a police patrol on routine duty suspected a car driven by an Asian man because the man in the passenger seat looked nervous when a police patrol overtook their car.
Police followed the men unnoticed and waited for them to pull over near a house. When one of the men got out of the car with a bag in hand, police asked for their identity.
The bag contained bottles of booze. Police then searched their car and found more bottles of booze in the boot. They have been referred to the General Department for Drug Control.

KD 240 stolen from house: An Afghan man has filed a case with the police accusing three people of breaking into his home in Oyoun, in Jahra, beating his wife and stealing KD 240, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
In his complaint to the police the Afghan said the men entered the house in his absence. He also told police he was involved in a dispute with the suspects and they took revenge on his wife.
The men have been summoned by the police.

Afghans held for stealing tents: The Northern Jahra Highway Patrolmen have arrested four Afghans for stealing tents from the area, reports Arrouiah daily.
According to security sources the men were caught while driving with the loot in a half lorry.
The same sources said when police ordered the men to pull over their vehicle and asked the source of the tents they admitted to robbing them.
They also told police they have an accomplice who keeps an eye on the campers and once the owners leave the area, they steal the tents and sell them for KD 40 each.
They have been referred to the authorities.

Wife ‘steals’ furniture: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the Saad Al-Abdullah City Police Station accusing his wife of ‘stealing’ furniture from his home, reports Arrouiah daily.
In his complaint to the police the man said when he returned home he was shocked to find the furniture missing and when he inquired with the neighbors he was told his wife had taken the furniture which was given to her during her marriage.
The man added he was earlier involved in a dispute with his wife.

Six arrested for gambling: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested six Asians for gambling inside a house in Surra, reports Arrouiah daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information raided the house and caught the suspects red-handed.
Police have reportedly seized from the men money and playing cards and referred them to the authorities.
