Staffer suspected of poisoning soup at UK school
LONDON (AP) -- Police are questioning a 58-year-old man accused of trying to poison soup served at an exclusive English boarding school.
Authorities say no one was hurt but that the incident is being treated as a serious offense.
The poison soup was discovered at Stowe School in Buckingham 75 miles (120 kilometers) northwest of London. Other staffers noticed an unusual chemical smell in the kitchen where it was being prepared.
Police on Wednesday declined to identify the suspect, who is suffering from unspecified health problems.
He is suspected of trying to administer poison with intent to endanger life and inflict grievous bodily harm. Police have not said what poison was used.
