555 Kgs Fish confiscated at the Sharq Fish Market
The Kuwait Municipality during a surprise inspection campaign at the Sharq Fish Market recently confiscated 555 kilos of fish believed to be unsuitable for human consumption, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The daily did not give more details.
Kuwaiti nabbed: The Lebanese security authorities have taken into custody a Kuwaiti citizen, identified only as A.A., for possessing a piece of hashish, reports Al-Rai daily.
Without going into details the daily said the man was taken into custody at the Rafik Al-Hariri International Airport. He has been referred to the concerned authorities.
Peddler, drunkard: Police have arrested an Asian man for trafficking in locally-manufactured booze, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The bootlegger was arrested in Hassawi and police are said to have seized from him 13 bottles of booze.
In another unrelated incident, police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for drinking under the influence of alcohol, the daily added. The man was arrested in front of the Salmiya Cooperative Society. Police have seized from his car three bottles of whisky and referred him to the authorities.
Note found fake: A Kuwaiti man recently visited the Al-Rai daily to tell the story of a counterfeit KD 20 banknote which could send him to prison in Beirut.
The man told the daily he has a shop in Kuwait and he got the money from one of the customers in Kuwait. He traveled to Lebanon and when he went to change the money at a money exchange office, the fake note caught the eye of the employee at the exchange and he was about to summon the police.
The daily added, he succeeded in convincing the employee that it was given to him by his customer in Kuwait and the latter believed him.
The Kuwaiti added the banknote has been forged in a professional manner.
Jail set on fire: Three Asian inmates of the Central Prison who set fire to their cell have been admitted to the Al-Babtain Centre for Burns, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily without going into details said the fire was put out by the prison administration before the arrival of firemen.
Merc stripped: Police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing the wheels and front and rear lights worth KD 480 of a Mercedes car belonging to a Kuwaiti woman, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The car was parked in front of the home of the woman in Sabah Al-Nasser.
Culprit caught: An unidentified juvenile who allegedly stabbed a Kuwaiti man in his 40s has been arrested by the Jahra police, reports Al-Dar daily.
According to security sources the man was stabbed in a suburb of Jahra.
The suspect reportedly escaped after committing the crime but he was soon arrested based on the information provided by the victim. The victim’s condition is believed to be critical.
