KUWAIT CITY, March 16: The Search and Information Depart-ment at Shuwaikh Customs Unit received information about an unidentified company smuggling a huge quantity of liquor into the country via Shuwaikh Port. Following investigations, Customs officers managed to trace the cargo after six months, when the perpetrators attempted to smuggle 1,996 bottles of various kinds of foreign liquor from a GCC country. Investigation is on-going to trail the Arab national involved in the illegal business.

Liquor peddler caught fleeing : Security officers in Mirgab Monday evening apprehended 38-year old Asian expatriate, who was found in possession of eight bottles of locally brewed liquor ready for sale.
The officers are said to have moved toward the man, after the suspect aroused their suspicion with a bag he was carrying. They discovered the contraband after searching inside the bag.
Meanwhile, the suspect reportedly tried to escape but police tracked him down, and he was referred to the concerned authority for further investigation.

12-year absconder held: Jahra securitymen have arrested a Kuwaiti, in his 30s, for consuming alcohol and evading a 12-year jail sentence for his involvement in various cases.
While patrolling the area, the securitymen asked the suspect to present his identification documents but he immediately fled from the scene, instead of complying with the instructions of the officers.  They chased him with the assistance of back-up forces, resulting in his arrest. 
During interrogation, the securitymen noticed the suspect was under the influence of alcohol.  Police were surprised when they discovered the Kuwaiti is wanted by law as he dodged a 12-year jail sentence imposed on him for a number of charges. He was referred to the authorities for the necessary legal action. 

Teen escapes molestation:  A Kuwaiti man has lodged a complaint against mysterious persons who tried to molest his 18-year old son, and threatened to kill him.
The man accompanied his son to the police station, where he told securitymen his son was walking by the road Monday evening when a car stopped and three men alighted from it, and then the men ordered him to get inside the car, which he refused. The men threatened to kill him. He reiterated the suspects tried on three occasions to molest his son.
Police have since taken the possible descriptions of the suspects from the victim for circulation at checkpoints to trail them, and the case was filed at the police station.

Disabled girl missing: A 23-year-old disabled girl disappeared from her house Monday. Her father, a Kuwaiti in his 40s, filed a complaint at Qairawan Police Station saying he searched for his daughter everywhere in his house and on all roads near his house, but couldn’t find her
 The girl’s description has been sent to all checkpoints.

Wanted woman arrested: An Arab woman, who was wanted by law for her involvement in several finance-related crimes, was arrested at a checkpoint in Farwaniya Monday. She was referred to authorities.

Duo caught high on drugs: Security forces seized two Kuwaiti citizens in possession of three grams of heroin in Sabahiya Monday evening, during their routine duty around the area. Sources said the officers spotted a vehicle parked at the desert with two people inside, and approached it. The officers noticed the men were not in their normal senses, so they went ahead to check inside the car, where they found drug related tools, in addition to drugs. The suspects were referred to the concerned authority for further investigation.
