Daring Palestinian caught selling drugs near police dept
Securitymen arrested three expatriates – an Azeri, a Syrian and a Jordanian – for selling fake dollars.
Sources say acting Director General of Criminal Evidence Department Brigadier Mazen Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah received a tip-off that the first suspect — the Azeri was selling fake dollars at a rate lesser than the market value. Subsequently, undercover agents persuaded the suspect to sell them $100,000 for a sum of KD 15,000. They then arrest sed him during the transaction and found a weapon in his vehicle and another $100,000 fake at his residence.
During interrogation, he told securitymen about his partner, the Syrain and the latter, in turn, told securitymen about the Jordanian partner. The Jordanian allegedly brought the forged dollars from abroad and sold them through the first accused.
Investigations are going on.
Meanwhile, in another story, a Palestinian holder of Egyptian travel documents kept 750 grams of hashish in a car he parked about 200 meters from the General Department for Criminal Investigations, which offices the General Department of Drugs Control. Also, he chose to deliver a quarter gram of hashish worth KD 400 at the parking lot of the same department.
According to a security source, the Drugs Control General Department received information about unemployed Palestinian expatriate, who worked for drug dealers and distributed drugs to inmates at the Central Jail.
The source added detectives managed to reach a deal with the suspect, who agreed to deliver a quarter gram of hashish at the department’s parking lot. He was arrested during its delivery. During investigation, he admitted to the crime and added he stored drugs inside a car at the same parking lot, where security men found 750 grams of hashish. In all, they seized one kilogram of hashish, and the suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution.
