KUWAIT CITY, March 15: Firefighters were dispatched to Canada Dry Street in Shuwaikh Industrial Area, after the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received news about fire outbreak at some commercial shops there. About 12 shops trading in wheels and car parts were overwhelmed with fire, covering an area of 1,000 square/meters. Firemen managed to control the inferno from further spread, and extinguished the fire in one hour. Sources said 70 firefighters participated in the operation, whereas high ranking fire officials, patrol officers and other security operatives were present. Medical Emergency Personnel provided first aid treatment to fire officers who suffocated during the incident. In the meantime, officers have started investigations to unravel the mystery behind the fire.

Kids, firemen injured: A huge fire broke out in a salon for women in Jahra Sunday, causing injuries to three children and two firefighters. After receiving information about a fire that started in a salon on the fourth floor of a building in Jahra, the Operations Room dispatched a team of firefighters, paramedics and securitymen to the location. They evacuated the building and rescued three children from the adjacent apartment. Sources revealed a firefighter got an abrasion in his head while taking the three children out of the apartment and another fireman suffered from smoke inhalation. Paramedics provided treatment to the firefighters on the spot, while the children - who suffered from smoke inhalation - were admitted to Jahra Hospital. Investigations are underway to determine the actual cause of fire but there are speculations that it was due to electric short circuit. No other casualties or injuries were reported but the fire is said to have caused huge material losses.

Billboard catches fire: Firefighters put out a fire which broke out in a billboard displayed at a commercial complex in Fahaheel area Monday.  The fire was caused due to an electric short-circuit and was brought under control in a very short time.  Securitymen and paramedics also rushed to the complex after receiving information about the incident.

Scrapyard block on fire: Fire engulfed a vehicle and spare parts area at Amghara scrapyard Sunday.
Firemen from Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Ardiya fire stations rushed to the scene right after receiving a call about the fire. They immediately doused the fire but one of them suffered from smoke inhalation during the operation and he was treated on the spot. A case was registered and investigations are in progress to determine the actual cause of fire.

Attendants at the station pushed the car away from the petrol pump and disconnected electricity before firefighters arrived. In a similar incident, firefighters from Jahra doused a fire that engulfed a car in South Jahra, without it spreading to other structures. No casualties or loss of property were recorded. The fire is believed to have started by a short circuit.
