Lebanese cop in town; ‘Kiss my hand, will forgive’ Selling drugs at airport
KUWAIT CITY, March 14: Police have arrested a Lebanese man for impersonating police, reports Al-Dar daily.
A source said a member of the ruling family was in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area and he saw the impersonator using a blue flasher police light atop his vehicle.
The member requested the man to show his ID and discovered he was speaking with the Lebanese accent.
The member called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior and the man admitted to impersonating police.
He has been referred to the authorities for interrogation.
Selling drugs at airport: The Kuwait International Airport police have arrested an Asian man for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police investigations revealed the man was conducting his business in the parking lot of the airport.
Acting on a tip-off police set a trap for the man but the latter sensing police presence in the area tried in vain to escape on foot. Police chased and arrested the man and referred him to the concerned authorities.
It has been reported at the time of the arrest police have seized from the suspect 500 grams 85 sachets of heroin each 50 grams.
The suspect has reportedly told police he was working for an unidentified inmate of the Central Prison. Police investigations are continuing.
Syrian selling guns, ammo: The Ja-hra police have arrested a Syrian man and seized from him 13 unlicensed hunting guns and 300 rounds of ammunition, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily quoting reliable sources said the police acting on information that the suspect was selling guns, set a trap for him and caught him red-handed while selling a gun to an unidentified police agent.
Hawally vice dens raided: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant police raided an apartment in Hawalli and arrested five Asians — four prostitutes and a pimp — and referred them to the authorities, reports Al-Dar daily.
Police also raided another apartment in the area and arrested two expatriates for manufacturing booze, the daily added. Police have seized from the bootleggers liquor manufacturing equipment and referred them to the authorities.
Nepali woman with cop: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti policeman for impersonating a police officer in the rank of a captain. At the time of the arrest, the impersonator was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for causing disturbance near an unidentified cooperative society, reports Al-Anba daily.
A young Nepali woman who was with him said the man was her boyfriend and that he always protected her when she was in trouble. The impersonator has been referred to the authorities.
Maids told to steal: Police are looking for a representative of a domestic labor office for encouraging two housemaids to steal money from their sponsor, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a police source, the housemaids stole KD 1,700 from their sponsor and escaped. After police managed to arrest one of them, she said the company representative gave them KD 300 and kept the rest of the money for himself.
Police were unable to reach the representative because he has switched off his mobile.
‘Kiss my hand, will forgive’: A Kuwaiti man and a police captain who were involved in a fight at an unidentified location have allegedly filed complaints against each other, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said the officer was involved in a fight with a Syrian man over car parking place and the officer beat the Syrian. The man filed a complaint against the officer and submitted a medical report to substantiate his claims.
The officer went to the Kuwaiti sponsor of the Syrian and requested him to tell the Syrian to withdraw the complaint. The Kuwaiti said he was ready to oblige, provided officer kissed his hand.
The officer lost his composure and both men ended beating each other.
Rear hit kills motorist: A 26-year-old Egyptian died in a traffic accident on the Fahaheel Expressway opposite to Al-Sahel Sports Club, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports, an unidentified Kuwaiti motorist collided with the car of the victim from the rear killing the man on the spot.
Eight other people, including the Kuwaiti have sustained minor injuries.
