KUWAIT CITY, March 11: Acting on information personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department recently raided an apartment in a suburb of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and arrested an Asian man for practicing sorcery, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the man claimed he was gifted with supernatural powers to cure any illnesses and bring wealth to families and help mend broken marriages.
The daily added police set a trap for the man and caught him red-handed while receiving KD 200 from a young woman to help her find her lost love.
The man has been referred to the authorities.
Airport Security of Kuwait: The Bahrain Airport authorities have complained to their counterparts in Kuwait about the laxity of security procedures at the Kuwait International Airport, reports Al-Wasat daily.
This happened when an unidentified passenger who arrived at the Bahrain International Airport from Kuwait was found carrying metal ‘weapon’.
During interrogation it was discovered the passenger had passed through the security checkpoints at the Kuwait airport.
According to reliable sources, the airport authorities in Kuwait are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, a reliable source from the Ministry of Interior was quoted as saying, the ministry has stressed on the necessity of holding training courses for employees working in the inspection and security areas.
Workers falls to death: An Egy-ptian worker fell to his death from a building under construction in Hawalli, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The man allegedly fell on his head and died instantly. Acting on information paramedics and police rushed to the spot and found the man in a pool of blood.
The remains of the man have been referred to Forensics.
Man, son beat cop: A Kuwaiti man and his son have been arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution for assaulting and insulting a police officer and tearing his uniform, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
This happened when the officer ordered the man behind the wheel to pull over for violating traffic law and issued him a citation.
The man and his son objected and an argument ensued between the trio and suspects ended up attacking the officer.
Salon broken into: Police are looking for an unidentified person who allegedly broke into a beauty salon in Hawalli and stole valuables and money, reports Arrouiah daily.
In her complaint to the Hawalli police the Kuwaiti owner said the ‘thief’ escaped with KD 200 from the cash machine, a TV set, computer and electrical appliances.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identity the culprits.
Woman driving drunk: A Kuwaiti wo-man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been arrested by police for driving under the influence of alcohol, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to reports the woman, who is believed to be in her 30s, was ordered to pull over for reckless driving in a suburb of Sabah Al-Salem and while issuing a citation the policeman discovered she was drunk.
Valuables stolen: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a case with the Shuwaikh Police Station accusing unidentified persons of stealing valuables from his car which was in a garage for maintenance, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
