Toyota Quality Service beat Gulf Consult
In a terrific festive atmosphere to commemorate Kuwait’s National Day and Liberation Day, Toyota Quality Service beat Gulf Consult XI by 50 runs in the GC Invitation Cricket Cup played at the picuturesque Doha KEC grounds organized by Gulf Consult.

TQS captain Anil Reddy won the toss and elected to bat on a beautiful wicket and the decision proved right as the TQS openers Allwyn and sensational batsman Zartab gave a flying start for them until Allwyn fell for 26 (3 fours) at the total on 69 in just 6 overs. After Zartab fell for a quick-fire 49 (3 sixes and 3 fours), Anas and TQS vice-captain Julius steadied the innings and TQS reached a total of 197 runs for loss of 4 wickets with fast scoring from Roshan and James in the final overs. Anas got out after making 35 (4 fours) whereas Julius stayed not out till the end with a well balanced knock of 50 which included 6 fours. Jasim Mithun bowl very good 4 overs (2/16) whereas John and Praveen took one wicket each.
The total was very high and GC needed a good start which was given by their openers John Saloman and Mavino and reached 49 runs in only the 5th over. Seeing the flying start by the GC batsmen, TQS captain Anil bought himself and Roshan and both showed some quality spin bowling where the GC batsmen found it very difficult to score of them. Anil and Roshan took a wicket each but gave away only 12 and 20 runs respectively in their 4 overs which restricted GC to finish there innings at 147 for 6 wickets after the completion of alloted 20 overs. John Saloman scored patience 42 runs (1 four), whereas Mavino Sequira scored 24 runs (1 four and 1 six), Nicolas Barboza scored 18 runs (2 fours and 1 six) and Umesh scored 15 runs. Vasu scored unbeaten 20 runs with the help of 2 fours.
