Arsenal, Unistar & Leaf Book 6th round victories

KUWAIT CITY, March 10: In their most impressive start of the season, D’ Islanders chalked up another win and rolled the best team output of the week in their sixth week scheduled match against the time masters of West End Watch Company. The 6th round of the 2010 PBAK-COZMO-Al Muzaini_Western Union 6th Conference Tenpin Bowling League also saw the pin breakers of Arsenal, Unistar International Cargo, LEAF and KAICO booking convincing victories over separate opponents. Meanwhile, the Grim Reapers retained the yellow jersey by snapping their 2-game losing streak with a victory over Ultimate Strikers-1.
Now in third place after their admirable showing against the equally electrifying keglers of West End Watch, D’ Islanders spearheaded by the tenacious trio of Bert Pantanilla, Danny Doctor and Bobby Carambas took early control of the match with a 996-861 win over the time keepers. With the Bert, Danny and Bobby still in charge of the pin busting chores, D’ Islanders dished out another scintillating winning performance in game two that ended in a 972-863 count. Aware that the outcome of the match will surely go D’ Islanders way, West End’s Brian Fernanades, Colin Costa, Fatima Sequiera, Lloyd Fernandes and Nelson D’ Souza nevertheless bowled with the same intensity they are known for and succeeded in coming up with a big 1027-929 edge in game three. Carrying the scoring load for the freight movers in this match were Mars Balisi, Alfred Avila, Myra Manalo, Mandy Manalo, Riz Roque, Jess Tolentino and Jess de Vera.
LEAF who also bowled above the 2800 mark had a light assignment over the weekend cruising home to an easy 2824-2560 victory at the expense of Frost Real Estate. The green thumbs started the day by taking the low scoring game one 899-759 and returned in game two with a more convincing 976-932 victory. To close out the match, Joe Presenta, Cris Carungay, Marjorie Mercado, Peter Magdaherin, Rey Ualat and Blanca Mercado completed a three nothing sweep by taking the third a final game 924-869. In submitting the only other above 2800 tally, the car dealers of KAICO humbled the beleaguered sound specialist of BOSE 2813-2478. In the other match of the week, Al Qassem Strikers struck down defending champion Klasmeyts NLB Corporation 2851-2605, COZMO turned back RAV-5 2611-2474, Nusantara upset Xpress Rollers 2746-2682, league leader Grim Reapers down Ultimate Strikers-1 2791-2610, second running Siete Pares stopped Ultimate Strikers-2 2698-2405 and World Class who drew the week’s bye bowled a 2893.
