Citi holds Bourse Game seminar Event features insight on mechanics of FX dealing
KUWAIT CITY, March 10: Building on the success of its training modules and responding to client requests, Citi Kuwait recently held, for the fourth consecutive year, its globally acclaimed Bourse Game seminar, an intensive introduction to Money Markets and Foreign Exchange which utilizes practical learning techniques and promotes a stimulating learning environment.
Featuring about 30 of Kuwait’s top-tier treasury, finance and Investment officers from major corporations, the 5-day seminar was conducted by Fatah Adour, Citi Kuwait Treasurer, and Theodore Leventis, better known globally as the “Bourse Master” who’s been running the Bourse Games for both Citi staff and customers for the last 27 years in over 55 countries around the world.
Seminar covered main money market and foreign exchange topics including structure of rates, FX swaps and interbank dealing, while trainees spent hours on a simulated trading floor learning the finer points of foreign exchange trading.
“The Bourse Game has become an annual recurrence on our training calendar as it has demonstrated its value to clients and staff alike,” said Raj Dvivedi, Citi Country Officer in Kuwait. “This type of seminars represents a novel approach to training which continues to be well received by treasury, finance and investment officers of top local companies and financial institutions.”
The trading floor was abuzz with activity and excitement as teams representing fictitious banks placing foreign exchange rates bids and keying in orders at brisk pace, “traders” yelling on telephones and groups of people in serious discussion over hedging and investment strategies. Seminar ended with a competition for best ‘trading bank’ and attendees received seminar certification.
“This and other focused training efforts are in line with Citi’s long-term strategy and commitment to developing local professional talent,” added Mr. Adour. “Seminar provided a tremendous insight on the mechanics of FX dealing,
While the trading floor scenario demonstrated to our clients the sophistication in markets and the transparency in the approach and execution that Citi practices as it acts on behalf of clients.”
