Etro Boutique opens in Kuwait Store one of Italy’s leading fashion houses
KUWAIT CITY, March 10: Fashion house Al-Ostoura International introduced the latest addition to its stable of top Italian fashion brands with the opening Wednesday of the Etro Boutique at Al-Thuraya Mall in Salmiya.
The new Etro Boutique is one of Italy’s leading fashion houses and its opening in Kuwait was meant to meet the discriminating taste of local fashionistas for chic, beautiful and ready-to-wear line of dresses, apparels and accessories.
The store’s design was done in such a way that lends focus on the dresses and apparels on display, with the glass tiles flooring, wood panel walls and luxurious place carpets, glass display windows, glass-top display case and a specially designed fitting room all denoting the Etro image and the beauty and elegance of Italian fashion products.
The dresses and apparels are made of the finest natural materials and fabrics with modern and contemporary designs that appeals to the discerning taste of even the most discriminating-that the Etro brand is known for: distinctive and of the highest quality.
The new Etro Boutique is a joint venture between Al-Ostoura Company, the leading purveyors of the best fashion brands in Kuwait, and Etro, one of the leading fashion name in the world; the new store is also the seventh branch to be opened in the Middle East and Southeast Asia; after Dubai which has three stores, one each in Riyadh and Al-Khobar in Saudi Arabia and one in Manila.
The opening of the new Etro Boutique in Kuwait is part of the company’s broad expansion plans in the Middle East, with another two showrooms — one in Beirut and another in Doha, Qatar — to be opened soon.
Etro was established 40 years ago by Gimmo Etro who traveled the world’s fashion capitals to gain a better insight of the business and went on to build it into an international brand representing the best in Italian fashion. The company is also known for its perfume line.
Etro is an Italian fashion house and manufacturer of fabrics, furnishings and fragrances. It was founded in 1968 by Gimmo Etro. The company is a family business, with means wear headed since 1990 by Kean Etro, while his sister, Veronica directs women’s wear. Gimmo’s eldest son, Jacobo, is in charge of the textile division, and his brother Ippoliti handles company finances from its headquarters in Milan.
Its signature look, incorporating bright colors and bold, kaleidoscopic patterns paired with classic tailoring, have frequently featured paisley. Its men’s and women’s retail collections also include shoes, leather goods and accessories. The brand is particularly regarded for men’s suits, which appear at first conservatively styled, yet which commonly incorporate loud, colorful fabric in the lining and under the collar and cuff.
