Youth stabs mother in row over property You cannot trust anybody
KUWAIT CITY, March 8: Police are looking for a Syrian youth who is said to have stabbed his mother several times because she refused to register some of his late father’s property (shops) in his name, reports Al-Anba daily.
The mother, who is in her 50s, has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital.
60-yr-old shoplifter: Police have arrested a 60-year-old Syrian woman for shoplifting foodstuffs worth KD 17 from the Fahaheel branch of The Sultan Centre, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The ‘thief’ was caught by CCTV cameras. She has been handed over to the police.
You cannot trust anybody: Police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing KD 70 from the account of a Bangladeshi man, reports Arrouiah daily.
A police source said the Bangladeshi asked a passerby to help him withdraw the money from an ATM machine and gave him the secret number.
The passerby withdrew KD 120, KD 50 for the Bangladeshi and KD 70 for himself saying this was the charge for helping the man.
After withdrawing the man is said to have escaped on foot. A case has been registered at the Salhiya Police Station.
20 held in cafe raids: Policemen in cooperation with personnel from the Ministry of Communications have arrested 20 expatriates working for Internet cafÈs in Farwaniya and Khaitan for violating residence laws, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The five-hour campaign began at 16:00 hours and continued until 21:00 hours. All those arrested have been referred to the authorities.
Expats held with liquor: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport recently foiled attempts of two men — an Austrian and a German — to smuggle alcohol into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to a security source Customs officers have seized from the baggage of the German 67 bottles of foreign liquor and from the Austrian 60.
During interrogation the men said the booze was for their personal consumption. They have been referred to the authorities.
Man steals from workplace: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti man for stealing KD 2,500 from the company employing him, reports Al-Anba daily.
After the compatriot owner of the company filed a complaint at the Jahra Police Station telling the thief is said to have offered to return KD 1,500 on condition the man withdraws the complaint.
Forged entry bid foiled: Officers of the Kuwait International Airport have arrested four Bangladeshis for attempting to enter the country on forged passports, reports Arrouiah daily.
The men came aboard a flight from Bahrain. They have been referred to the authorities for interrogation.
