Two military officers held in drug peddling Over one kilo hashish seized

KUWAIT CITY, March 8: Securitymen have arrested two military officers for trading in drugs with more than a kilo of hashish in their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, Director General Drug Control General Department (DCGD) Brigadier Ahmad Al-Khalifa instructed a team of anti-narcotics officers to put a military man assigned at the Fire Department under surveillance. After gathering enough evidence, the team arranged an entrapment and sent a secret agent to purchase quarter kilo of hashish worth KD400 from the suspect.
The secret agent later met the suspect in Farwaniya to close the deal. When the secret agent handed over the police marked money to the suspect in exchange for the hashish, the securitymen approached them. However, the suspect tried to escape from the scene, hitting two vehicles and a police car while the securitymen continued to chase him.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted the crime and told police that he obtained hashish from a military man employed at the Ministry of Interior. He also guided police to the residence of his supplier in Jawakheer area, leading to the arrest of the second suspect. Police checked his house where they found one kilo of hashish. He confessed that he has been trafficking in drugs for quite some time and he supplies hashish to the first suspect.
The two suspects were referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation and other necessary legal action.
 

Parents blamed: A four-year-old Egyptian child was referred to hospital with burns all over his body.
Sources say the Operations Room received information that a child sustained burns and promptly dispatched securitymen and paramedics to his house. Without giving details, sources said the child had to be immediately transferred to hospital.
A case was registered against the child’s parents.

Smuggling bid foiled
: Securitymen managed to arrest a Kuwaiti citizen in his early 30s when he tried to smuggle a mobile recharge card to an inmate at the Central Prison.
 Security sources said the suspect became confused during a check at the prison, and security officers found the card after they searched him. The man was referred to Sulaibiya police station, and a case was registered against him.

Hovercraft lands on road: Traffic was blocked for some time on the Seventh Ring Road when a hovercraft belonging to the Coast Guard slipped from the back of a trailer truck and came to rest in the middle of the road, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The hovercraft was completely destroyed. It has been reported such hovercrafts are used in shallow waters.

Wanted man caught: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man who was wanted by law in connection with a financial crime worth KD 2,500, reports Alam Alyawm daily. The man was arrested at a police check point in Hawalli.

Drunk in barter deal: Police have arrested an unidentified person for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily said the arrest followed a call to police by an unidentified Asian grocer who informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior that the man was involved in an argument with the grocer. The driver was insisting to exchange his vehicle with the grocery.

Man faints at police station: An elderly Kuwaiti was rushed to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital after fainting in front of the gate of Salmiya Police Station recently.
Paramedics rushed to the location immediately after receiving information about the incident. They referred the elderly to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital but no details were given his condition.

Trucker hurt in mishap
: A truck driver sustained injuries in different parts of his body when a heavy vehicle, which was loaded with iron, overturned on the Seventh Ring Road recently, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location immediately after receiving information about the accident. They referred the injured to Jahra Hospital.
