KUWAIT CITY, March 8: “Israel has been targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque since its establishment — an old agenda deeply rooted in the Zionist ideology,” the Development and Reform Bloc said in a press statement Monday. Condemning the Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem over the last weeks, the bloc opined the Zionist state has started implementing its plans, while the Islamic world remains weak and helpless. They also accused the Islamic governments of failing to protect the mosque against the Zionist assaults “as some Arab governments recently welcomed peace talks with Israel”.
Accusing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of treason and coordinating with the Zionists, the bloc praised the residents of Jerusalem for standing against the Israeli aggression and violence. The bloc announced its plan to hold a seminar at the Parliament on Tuesday to express their support to the people of Jerusalem.
