2 youths stabbed in gang fight Indian maid thrashes her sponsor
KUWAIT CITY, March 3: Two Bedoun youths suffered from serious injuries after engaging in a public brawl in Sulaibiya Tuesday.
Securitymen rushed to the scene after the Operations Room received a call about a fight between two groups, consisting of six young men who used sharp objects in attacking each other. Two got serious stab wounds in different parts of their bodies, so they were taken to Farwaniya Hospital.
Preliminary investigations revealed the feuding parties had a minor disagreement which escalated into a fistfight. Other members of both groups were referred to the authorities for questioning and possible settlement of the dispute.
Maid thrashes sponsor: Securitymen have arrested an Indonesian housemaid for beating her female sponsor in Firdous.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after receiving information about an Indonesian housemaid who allegedly attacked her female sponsor. When they arrived at the house, they saw the victim who had injuries in different parts of her body. They took her to Farwaniya Hospital and arrested the housemaid.
A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack.
Drunkard found with gun: Police have arrested a 48-year-old Kuwaiti for consuming alcohol and possession of unlicensed pistol.
While on routine duty in Salmiya, the securitymen noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they asked the driver — a Kuwaiti — to pull over. Upon approaching the vehicle, police discovered the Kuwaiti was drunk and they found a bottle of imported liquor, as well as an unlicensed pistol from the vehicle. He was referred to the authorities for questioning and other necessary legal action.
Wanted Kuwaiti nabbed: Hawally securitymen have arrested a Kuwaiti wanted by law for his involvement in a financial case.
During routine inspection in the area, the securitymen checked the identification of the Kuwaiti and it turned out he is wanted by law for a financial case involving KD20,000. He was referred to the authorities for prosecution.
Son runs in tiff with dad: A 55-year-old Kuwaiti has filed a missing person report on his 19-year-old son at Sabah Al-Nasser Police Station.
According to the Kuwaiti, he had an argument with his son Tuesday night, prompting the latter to storm out of the house and he has not returned home since then. The father called their relatives and friends to know his son’s whereabouts but his efforts went in vain, so he decided to report the incident to police. He provided police with a detailed description of his son, copies of which were distributed to different security check points to find the young man.
Asian attempts suicide: A 39-year-old Asian man tried to commit suicide by slitting his wrist at his sponsor’s house in Al-Rehab area on Wednesday afternoon.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene on receiving information and transferred him to Farwaniya Hospital in an unconscious condition. He was admitted to the intensive care unit.
Sources say the Asian’s sponsor, on not hearing from him, entered his room and found him in a pool of blood and a knife nearby. A case was registered.
Tents, generators thieves held: Two Bedouns were arrested for stealing camping tents and generators from Kabad area on Thursday.
Sources say the suspects, who were traveling on Kabad road with the stolen items, had to stop at a checkpoint. When securitymen asked about the owner of the tents and generators, the duo claimed that they belonged to them. Their confusion and nervousness, however, caught the attention of guards and they referred the suspects to police station. During interrogation, the suspects admitted that they stole the objects. A case was registered.
Man caught with ‘stimulant’: Securitymen on Wednesday arrested a man for the possession of a large quantity of ‘khat’ in Umm Al-Haiman.
While patrolling the area, the securitymen noticed the suspicious movement of a vehicle, so they asked the driver to pull over but he sped off. Police chased him and when they caught up with him they inspected the vehicle where they found a large quantity of ‘khat’. He was referred to the authorities for interrogation and other legal action.
