Kuwaiti team head to Doha for Drag Race We have great confidence in our heroes: Sheikh Faisal

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: Kuwait 1/4 Mile Auto & Motorcycle Club delegates headed by Deputy Chairman, Sheikh Faisal Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, are heading off to Doha Wednesday evening to attend the 7th and final round of Qatar automotive and motorcycle racing championship (Drag Race)2010 being held at the Qatar Racing Club. Accompanying Sheikh Faisal is Secretary of the club, Jassim Al-Shamlan.
The final round of the Drag Race will commence on Thursday, Feb 24, and will continue to Friday. It is expected that there will be a large Kuwaiti participation.
“I am confident that our Kuwaiti heroes will achieve yet another milestone to add on to the series of sporting achievements accomplished by Kuwait. Extensive technical preparation was done to allow more than 25 Kuwaiti teams to compete on the best levels,” said Sheikh Faisal Al-Sabah, commenting on the nature of this competition.


Sheikh Faisal added that His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince as well as His Highness the Prime Minister have provided the athletes with significant moral and material support, not to mention the significant role played by Chairman of the Kuwait _ Mile Auto & Motorcycle Club, Sheikh Basel Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
“Sheikh Basel has capitalized on this support in order to raise the flag of Kuwait high amid this international arena. Today, as a delegation, we are leaving Kuwait to join our brothers and sons during this unique event,” he stated.
Sheikh Faisal concluded by saying that this participation also coincides with Kuwait’s National and Liberation day celebrations:
“I would like to assert that our morals are high during this time, God Willing. We have great confidence in the honorable representation of Kuwait by our youth as they have never let us down. This feeling has been proven by the repeated accomplishments in this sport that is strengthening our position as the first Gulf state to practice this sport in the region,” he said.
