KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20, (KUNA): The biggest US medical team of various specialities is to visit Kuwait soon, director of the Retirees Service and Overseas Medical Treatment at the Kuwait Ministry of Defense Sheikh Sabah Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah said here Saturday.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Abdullah said in a press statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this team is made up of 25 medical consultants from Memorial Hermann hospital in Texas who will carry out some unique surgical operations at Jaber Al-Ahmad Armed Forces Hospital, besides providing prescriptions to patients and training the Kuwaiti doctors.
He said that this medical team consists of various specialities including cancerology, osteology, cosmetology, cardiovascularology, gynecology, obstetrics, internal medicine and sterility treatment, besides neurology, otolaryngology , dentistry, contagious diseases treatment and digestive system medicine.

Further, the top Kuwaiti health official asserted that inviting such consultants helps activate the Kuwaiti health relations with world health centers and plays a major role in exchanging expertise and carrying out sophisticated surgery that push the medical services provided for those working in the military apparatus to new highs.
He also said that bringing international experts from abroad opens the door wide for training Kuwaiti doctors on cutting-edge treatment methods in what brings benefits to doctors and patients alike, stressing that a big number of Kuwaitis whether doctors or patients took advantage of the visits made by foreign medical consultants to Kuwait.

Further, this spares patients and their families the toil of traveling abroad and the high expenses of medical treatment.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Abdullah asserted that Kuwaiti political leadership is keen on upgrading the level of the health services in Kuwait through making use of the world expertise in this field along with developing the medical systems in what positively reflects itself on the health of individuals in the society.
Finally, he hailed the support lent by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and his instructions on contracting with world renowned doctors and specialists in order to upgrade the level of the medical services provided in the medical services authority and make use of the foreign expertise.
He also expressed his thanks for the Amb. of Kuwait to the US Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and military attache at the embassy Lieutenant Colonel. Nabil Al-Roudhan for their cooperation and efforts in facilitating the procedures of this medical mission.
