22 on death row 7 injured in various accidents nation-wide
: Director of the Criminal Sentences Implementation and International Cooperation of the Public Prosecution Mohammad Al-Duaij was recently quoted as saying the Public Prosecution has submitted the names of 22 death row prisoners to HH the Amir for his approval, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Al-Duaij added the convicts are drugs peddlers, kidnappers and premeditated murderers.
Caretaker robbed: Police are looking for three people for breaking into the room of a caretaker of a building in Jahra and stealing KD 2,130 believed to be rent money he had collected from tenants, reports Al-Shahed daily.
In his complaint to the police the caretaker said three men forced their way into his room and demanded to hand over the money. One of them was armed with a knife, he added.
7 injured in various accidents nation-wide : Two people were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle collision under Al-Ghazali bridge near Canada Dry Street crossing Monday. One of the vehicles turned turtle due to the impact of the collision. Sources say firefighters pulled out the drivers from the vehicles while paramedics referred them to Sabah Hospital.
Meanwhile, a motorist jumped a red signal and crashed into an oncoming vehicle in Shuwaikh area. A case was registered at Shuwaikh Industrial Area Police Station and police got both the vehicles removed from the road.
In a separate incident, an Asian driver suffered injuries when his heavy vehicle carrying rocks overturned in Sulaibiya Industrial Area. He was referred to Farwaniya Hospital. Sources say Jahra securitymen blocked the road and asked the company owning the vehicle to take it from the scene. According to sources, the vehicle overturned due to the heavy load it was carrying.
Furthermore, a Kuwaiti man and his wife suffered injuries in a road accident on Salmi Motorway on Sunday. They were referred to Jahra Hospital and a case was registered.
Lastly, two youths were referred to Jahra Hospital after their vehicle crashed into a billboard. Sources say the driver of the vehicle was driving beyond the speed limit. A case was registered.
