Maid from Home country; Passport Holder
I am an Indian national working in a private firm and my salary is KD300/- My wife is working as a nurse for the Ministry of Defense Kuwait. Her salary is KD385/-. We want to bring a maid from India. Can you please tell us the procedure.

Answer: No, you can’t get a maid from India. This maid must be of a nationality different from that of the who is applying for the visa. Secondly, nowadays you can’t get a visa for a maid as you have to go through a maid recruiting office.

Answer: Kuwaiti laws do not allow employers to keep the passports of their employees. In practice, every company, including all government offices, keep the passports of their employees. It has become like a norm or a practice.
However, Kuwaiti courts always rule in favour of the employees if they ever complain against their employers for withholding their passports.
