Iranians hit out at Al-Jarallah article ‘Summon Kuwaiti ambassador’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: Newspapers and websites of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard have launched a scathing attack against Al-Seyassah daily Editor-in-Chief Ahmed Al-Jarallah for an article he wrote on Feb 7, 2010 in response to the statement of the Iranian Parliament speaker who arrived recently in Kuwait, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In its editorial, Al-Wifaq Newspaper - known for its affiliation to the Iranian Intelligence - attacked Al-Jarallah, berating him for allegedly remaining silent during the Iraqi invasion. However, sources stressed the editions of Al-Seyassah at the time are enough to refute such allegations.

Meanwhile, the Iranian website, which is famous for its radical ideology and hostility towards all Arabs, claimed Al-Jarallah and the GCC countries collaborate with the West. It went as far as accusing the editor-in-chief of being a member of the Iraqi Baath Party during the reign of Saddam Hussein; ‘hence, he used to receive a monthly salary from the then Baghdad regime’.

Deriding the GCC countries, the site asserted these nations are terrified every time they hear anything about the Iranian weapons, indicating Iran has no challengers in the region except Israel, and the Arabs are out of consideration.

In the editorial of another pro-Iranian Revolutionary Guard website, the site urged the Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry to summon the Kuwaiti ambassador to Iran in protest against the article published in Al-Seyassah daily and punish its editor-in-chief.

It seems the writer in this site is not aware that the daily is published in Kuwait, not in Tehran where those who write against the Iranian regime are tortured or imprisoned, says Al-Seyassah.
