Frantic search for remains proves fruitless

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9: Securitymen have failed to find the remains of an allegedly murdered Pakistani girl Maryam Fadhel despite four days of searching in Sabhan waste dump site, say sources.
A committee formed to look into the case has been searching for the victim’s remains ever since an Egyptian expatriate claimed that he threw the teenager’s body in a garbage container after raping and killing her in Khaitan area. The Ministry of Public Works and Kuwait Municipality are helping in the search process, say sources.
The Interior Ministry has to find the victim’s corpse to make sure that the suspect is the real murderer, add sources.
It has been reported police used bulldozers and trained dogs but there were no results.
However, the victim’s uncle still believes the girl is alive. He also says the girl might have been sold by her lover Tajamal to pimps who may have forced her into prostitution.
The victim’s sister also said the clothes which were found at the scene where the alleged crime was committed do not belong to her sister.
