Brothers try to kidnap sister, threaten to kill her Just for a fast buck

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 9:  Police have arrested two brothers for attempting to kidnap their sister, reports Al-Rai daily.
The 26-year-old sister in her complaint to the Salhiya Police Station said she was with her aunt and cousins in the parking lot of the Sailor’s Day and the brothers and a sister-in-law tried to kidnap her and threatened to kill her.
When police summoned one of the brothers, the latter not only refused to come, he also insulted the police over the phone.
Police managed to identify the location of the brother and armed with a warrant, raided a chalet and arrested the two brothers and the wife of one of them and referred them to the authorities.
It has been reported at the time of the arrest the trio was celebrating a birthday party of a relative.

Just for a fast buck: When a Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, recently complained to the Al-Rai daily that an unidentified Asian embassy directed him to an office in Hawalli to complete formalities to hire a driver from that particular country, and the office demanded KD 45 from him, the concerned authorities were quick to deny knowledge of such an office.
The Kuwaiti added the embassy said the formalities to import household workers had to be completed at the office in Hawalli and said the office asked him to pay KD 45 as initial fee.
He also said the office looked shabby and was not furnished and no licence copy was hung on the wall of the office.
The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied knowledge of such an office.

Iranian woman held drunk: The Haw-alli police have arrested an Iranian woman for consuming alcohol, reports Arrouiah daily.
She was taken into custody when a police officer discovered she had difficulty in parking her vehicle. At the time of her arrest she was high on alcohol.
In another unrelated incident, the Jahra police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for driving under the influence of alcohol, the daily added.The daily added the man was initially arrested for reckless driving and a police officer discovered he was under the influence of alcohol.

Kuwait killed in accident: A Kuwaiti man died and a compatriot was seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision on the Fifth Ring Motorway, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Without going into details the daily said reckless driving was the cause of the accident.

Man in car boot: Saudi officers at the Khafji border post have handed arrested an unidentified bedoun to the authorities after he tried in vain to cross over into Saudi Arabia by hiding in a car boot with the help of a GCC citizen, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources the Saudi authorities were alerted by their Kuwaiti counterparts after they learnt that the bedoun had escaped from Kuwait’s border post.
Police are investigating the incident.
