Police imposter rapes Asian woman Asian’s body found floating in sewage treatment pond
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8: The remains of an unidentified Asian expatriate were found floating in a sewage treatment station in Al-Riggae area Sunday.
Sources say a station employee found the body floating and promptly informed authorities, following which diving teams affiliated to the Fire Department rushed to the scene and pulled out the corpse.
The Criminal Evidence Department is trying to identify the victim, say sources, adding securitymen suspect a foul play in the incident.
The corpse has been referred to Forensics to find the cause of death.
According to KUNA, Kuwaiti firemen on Monday recovered a body from a pool inside a sewage treatment plant.
Lt Col Khalil Al-Ameer, head of public relation at the fire department, told KUNA that three teams rushed to scene. Department divers pulled the body out of the sewage waters.
Ameer said that an investigation into the incident will be launched.
Police imposter rapes woman: Police are looking for an unidentified person for impersonating police and raping a young Asian woman, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to police the man ordered a taxi to pull over, showed his fake ID and said he was police. Then he accused the female passenger of violating a law, ordered her out of the taxi, took her in his car and drove her to his apartment in Adan and raped her.
The woman has filed a complaint with the Andalus Police Station. Police have reportedly got the information about the rapist and his vehicle from the taxi driver.
Pigeons worth KD 32,000 stolen: Police are looking for unidentified thieves for stealing 32 rare pigeons, two of them worth KD 32,000 from the livestock pen of a Kuwaiti man in Mutla’a, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
Youths fighting in hospital: Police have arrested four unidentified youths for fighting inside the Adan hospital, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source one of the youths who was hit in the eye is said to have lost his eyesight.
Without going into details the daily said police are investigating the cause of the fight.
Drug overdose kills man: A Kuwaiti citizen recently died inside his home in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh allegedly from an overdose of drugs, reports Arrouiah daily.
According to security sources the family of the victim called police when the latter refused to answer calls and after finding the door closed from inside.
Police and personnel from the Forensic Department then forced open the door in front of the family members and found the victim on the floor. Beside the corpse lay drugs and drug consuming tools.
According to the victim’s brother, the man had locked himself in for the past two days.
