2 Kuwaiti women held driving drunk Mechanics beat up citizen
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8: Securitymen arrested two Kuwaiti women, believed to be in their 30s, for consuming alcohol and recovered one bottle of imported liquor from their possession in Hawalli on Sunday.
Sources say securitymen noticed a vehicle being driven unsteadily and asked its female driver to pull over. On talking to her, securitymen realized that both she and her friend were under the influence of alcohol and referred them to authorities. Securitymen recovered one liquor bottle from the women’s car.
Mechanics beat citizen: A 46-year-old Kuwaiti man was injured in a fist fight that took place in Shuwaikh Industrial Area on Sunday.
Sources say a fight broke out between the Kuwaiti and two other Arabs while repairing a car and soon the Arab expatriates started beating him with sharp objects.
Securitymen, who rushed to the scene, arrested the Arab expatriates while paramedics attended to the injured, added sources.
8 ‘stuntmen’ nabbed: Securitymen arrested eight people for reckless driving and endangering the lives of others in Wafra area Sunday.
The Operations Room of the Interior Ministry had received information that drivers of six sports vehicles were performing stunts with their vehicles and that a large number of people gathered to see them on the Wafra Motorway. Immediately, four patrol teams rushed to the scene and arrested eight people involved while the rest managed to escape. Securitymen also impounded five vehicles.
Drugs found on expats: Securitymen arrested two Asian expatriates for possessing one gram of heroin and one finger of hashish in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area on Sunday.
Sources say a patrol team on routine duty at night time noticed the men walking at a late hour and realized that they were disoriented. On searching them, police found the contraband and referred them to authorities.
Car stolen from farm: A Kuwaiti man, in his 40s, filed a case at Kabad Police Station Sunday saying his vehicle was stolen by unknown persons. He said when he came out of his animal farm in the morning, he couldn’t find his vehicle. Securitymen have noted details of his vehicle and have started investigations.
Asian motorist beaten, robbed: An Asian expatriate was waylaid by four persons wearing national dress in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area on Sunday. The victim filed a case at the area police station saying while he was driving, a car stopped in front of him, forcing him to stop. The four accused then allegedly came out, beat him and robbed him of his mobile, KD 200 and ATM cards.
The expatriate said he suffered injuries and submitted a medical report to support his claim. Police noted down the description of the men and their vehicle and circulated the information to all security centers, say sources.
Thieves take sheep: A 48-year-old Kuwaiti man filed a case at Kabad Police Station saying thieves broke into his animal pen and stole three sheep. He said when he entered the pen with his employee on Sunday, he noticed the sheep’s disappearance. Investigations are going on.
Man found drunk: A Kuwaiti citizen informed the Operations Room about an Asian expatriate he discovered in an unconscious state, inside his car in Eqaila. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and examined the man, where they realized he was intoxicated. He was referred to the police station, and a case was registered against him.
Cash, mobile stolen: A Kuwaiti citizen filed a case with the Taima police and reported KD 500 cash and a mobile phone were stolen from his car in Saad Al-Abdullah area. The case was registered for investigation.
Animal waste litters road: A vehicle transporting animal waste from the slaughter house in Shuwaikh, which is affiliated to Kuwait Municipality, caused commotion on a road in Shuwaikh Industrial Area when the back door of the waste container opened suddenly and its contents spilled all over the road.
According to the driver - an Asian, he did not notice the door opened not until he was 300 meters away from the slaughterhouse.
After receiving information about the incident, the director general of the Municipality branch at the Capital Governorate rushed to the location. Laborers from the Municipality were then summoned to remove the animal waste from the road. A tanker from Shuwaikh Industrial Area was also dispatched to the area to help clean the road.
