SK Engineering & Construction B move into 2nd place Torres, Aguilar stay as Men’s A leaders

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8: Outstanding badminton matches were again the business of the day in the ongoing 14th Filipino Badminton Association in Ahmadi (FBAA) Conference 4th Toyo Tires Cup  at the Fahaheel Sports Center in Fahaheel, Friday.                                                                                   
Toyo Tires remained on top in the  team category when they collected 5 wins 1 loss for a total 19   matches won and 55 points, while  SK Engineering & Construction Team B sowed  some real class when they moved up  from 4th to 2nd   this week after  gathering  4 wins, 2 losses for a total of 19  matches won and 55 points while Equipment Company A dropped  from 2nd to 3rd place with a total of  4 wins, 2 losses, 17 matches won and 55 points.
On the other hand, Worley Parsons Team B are currently seated in 4th place with 3 wins, 3 losses, 18 matches won and 56 points, Worley Parsons Team Aare lying  5th with  3 wins, 3 losses, 14 matches won and 43 points, Western Union Money Transfer   6th with 3 wins, 3 losses,  14 matches won and 39 points, Equipment Company B   7th with  2 wins, 4 losses, 14 matches won and 42 points while SK Engineering & Construction Team A seem to be stuck at the bottom of the table with 6 losses, 5 matches won and 14 points.    
SK Engineering & Const. B vs Equipment Co. B 
SK Engineering & Construction B proved that they are one of the best contenders for this season’s  title when they almost collected a landslide victory after beating  Equipment Company B by 11-4 points when  Joshua Lagran and Tony Osea  fought for every   point to edge Leeforp “Da Flash” Alonzo 7-15, 19-18, 15-11, while the amazing tandem of Janette Rimando and Annie Blouin   wasted no time to beat 15-12, 15-7, Deck Abesamis and Hans Ita-as kept their unbeaten record when they outclassed 9-15, 15-9, 15-11 and the girl power of Cathy Lesaca and Jessica Magallanes   brushed aside Rochelle Baldomero and Mheann Golpo 15-11, 15-13.
Meanwhile Equipment Company was saved by the matches played by Ligaya Caedo and Lito Lorempo who blended well on the courts and outlasted Roman Malabanan and Belinda Valdez in a seesaw battle 15-10, 8-15, 15-6.   
Worley Parsons A vs SK Engineering & Const. A
Worley Parsons A were  at  the peak of their performance early that day when they nearly collected a complete  victory handed as  the fine pair of Mike Florendo and Allan Bondoc   thumped Jeb Elamparo and Alvin Godoy (upgrade) 15-9, 15-10, Nelson Pamfilo and Lala Tan worked well on the courts and hammered Alvin Godoy and Vince Vidal 15-8, 15-10, Arcee Piscasio (upgrade) and Allen Miole wasted no effort to brush aside Joel Jimenez Jr. and Dino Mendoza 15-9, 15-8 and the  girl power of Alesandra Piscasio and Maggie Haddad overpowered Luisa Diaz and Marinette “Tanette” Tuliao 15-8, 15-11.
On the other hand, Lhen Vidal and Anne Diaz scored  a single victory for SK Engineering & Construction A when they overwhelmed Arcee Piscasio and Sanse Mendoza 15-11, 15-13.
Western Union vs Equipment Co. A
Western Union Money Transfer completed 3-2 wins against Equipment Company A when  the premium pair of Jon-Jon “Idol” Torres and Gerry Aguilar in Men’s A remained unbeaten after  they outlasted Sherwin Felizardo and Dave Laguio 9-15, 15-13, 15-13,while  Claire Agsao and Jellica Espinosa outclassed Jenny Tolentino and Alethea Adana 11-15, 16-14, 15-8 and Cecile Ibon and Angie Rodriguez edged Neil Ocampo and Girlie Cuya in 3 extended  sets 14-16, 15-12, 15-10.
Meanwhile, Equipment Company A scored through July Espiritu and Rommel Carlos as they  overcome Chris Hernandez and Aileen Perez 15-13, 17-15 and Marlad Aman and Majed Abdul Aziz were  made to sweat in a seesaw battle 15-11, 11-15, 15-13.    
Worley Parsons B vs Toyo Tires
Worley Parsons B scored  3-2 points against Toyo Tires when they   triumphed through William Naoe and Ron Margate who  overpowered 15-10, 15-11, while Rio Ferrer and Arjay Lesaca fought wisely and edged Ryan Aguilar and Jeorgie Lorenzo in a seesaw battle 15-12, 12-15, 15-12 and there was an  astonishing girl performance  from  Dianne Lapason and Ness Aguilar as they  kept their unbeaten record when they edged Melissa Albannay and Abi Sedik 17-19, 15-10, 15-10.
Meanwhile, Toyo Tires acquired two victories when Tony Elamparo and Benedict Garcia   thrashed Eric Pablico and Franklin Montesclaros 15-4, 15-7 while Arlene San Mateo and Glorence Montesclaros maintained their  unbeaten record when they outlasted Mary Grace de Leon and Maricel Culangan 17-15, 15-9, 15-8.

Later that afternoon, Worley Parsons A gained 3-2 wins against Equipment Company B after  Nelson Pamfilo and Lala Tan   outlasted Anthony Mendoza and Maricel Romano in a seesaw 15-7, 11-15, 15-10, while Arcee Piscasio (upgrade) and Allen Miole overcame Aldrin Turalde and Rochelle Baldomero (upgrade) in 2 extended   sets 15-13, 16-14.
Equipment Company B achieved 2 wins when  Leeforp “Da Flash” Alonzo and Gerry Labagnoy overwhelmed Nelson Pamfilo (upgrade) and Allan Bondoc 15-11, 15-14 and Rochelle Baldomero and Mheann Golpo tamed Arcee Piscasio and Sanse Mendoza 15-8, 15-11.

SK Engineering & Construction B almost pulled off a landslide victory against SK Engineering & Construction A when they won by 4-1 points after getting a winning start through    of the best tandems this season when Janette Rimando and Annie Blouin   overpowered Alvin Godoy and Vince Vidal 15-11, 15-4, while the unbeaten pair of Deck Abesamis and Hans Ita- overcame Joel Jimenez Jr. and Dino Mendoza 15-9, 18-16, Cathy Lesaca and Jessica Magallanes outlasted Lhen Vidal and Anne Diaz 12-15, 15-5, 15-11 and  Roman Malabanan and Belinda Valdez wasted no effort to beat Luisa Diaz and Marinette “Tanette” Tuliao 15-7, 15-9.
Meanwhile, SK Engineering & Construction A did not go home empty handed when Popoy and Jeb Elamparo but not before they were  made to sweat for every  before they  outclassed Joshua Lagran and Tony Osea 15-9, 8-15, 17-15.

Ellen Elamparo and Shirley Iglesias proved that they are the strongest contenders for  this season’s crown in Men’s D and Ladies D event when they maintained their  unbeaten run with 7 wins and 21 total points including their  victory this week as  they wasted no effort to first brush aside Jonathan Vidal and Holden Ita-as 16-6, 15-7 and then  tame  Nette Mangahas and Luke Labagnoy 15-12, 15-8.
Meanwhile, the tandem of Grace Mendoza and Annie Centeno were  made to sweat but they edged Sam Raj and Che-Che Patriarca 13-15, 15-10, 15-12 although they  fought wisely to overcome Nette Magahas and Luke Labagnoy 15-11, 16-14.
On the other hand, Jonathan Vidal and Holden Ita-as did not go home empty handed when they outlasted Samraj and Che-Che Patriarca 15-11, 14-16, 15-8.
