Bangladesh PM starts Kuwait visit Sheikha Hasina meets Amir
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8, (KUNA): The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikha Hasina Wajed and her accompanying delegation arrived in Kuwait Monday for an official visit. She was received at Bayan Palace by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, and head of he honorary accompanying delegation Sheikha Dr Rasha Homoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
She was also received by members of the ruling family, ministers, governors, senior army, police, and National Guard officers, deputy dean of the diplomatic corps and Somalia’s Ambassador to Kuwait, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullateef Ali Al-Mawwash.
Later His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met Sheikh Nasser and Sheikha Hasina and her party at the Seif Palace here Monday.
HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Sabah and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem were also present in the meeting.
Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi also met Monday Sheikha Hasina Wajed on how to further develop Kuwaiti-Bangladeshi cooperative ties.
During the meeting, Al-Kharafi stressed the importance of reinforcing bilateral relations in trade, cultural and parliamentary relations, the assembly’s information section said in a release.
On her part, the Bangladeshi prime minister voiced her country’s appreciation for good treatment received by Bangladeshi workers in Kuwait.
The meeting was attended by Sheikha Rasha and Kuwaiti Ambassador in Bangladesh Abdelatif Al-Mawash.
Sheikha Hasina received Managing Director of Kuwait Public Investment Authority Bader al-Saad at her residence in the Bayan Palace here Monday.
She also received Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Abdel-Wahab al-Bader on how to reinforce bilateral cooperation.
The meetings were attended by Sheikha Rasha and Al-Mawash.
The visiting Bangladeshi Prime Minister met on Monday officials of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Wajed is in Kuwait at the invitation of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The meetings were also attended by representatives of several Kuwaiti companies wishing to run investments in Bangladesh; having discussed ways and means of cementing trade and investment relations between both countries’ private sectors, the chamber said in a release.
During the meeting, the chamber chairman, Ali al-Ghanim, stressed the significance of commonalities between Kuwait and Bangladesh, including belonging to Asia and Islam.
For her part, the Bangladeshi prime minister commended Kuwait’s pioneering role in the economic development process in the Gulf and Arab region.
She invited Kuwaiti companies to visit Bangladesh to explore available investment opportunities there.
Sheikha Hasina Wajed also received Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Khalid Al-Sabah at her residence in the Bayan Palace here Monday. During the meeting, they discussed ways and means of developing and promoting Kuwaiti-Bangladeshi security relations for the common interest of both friendly nations.
