Minister orders release of Egyptian football revellers 5 persons land in ICU as major gang war flares up in Sulaibiya

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: Five persons sustained serious injuries and additional fractures in a fight which occurred among an estimated 200 youths in Sulaibiya area.
Security and paramedics were dispatched to the scene immediately after the Operations Room was informed about the episode.
Security sources said some of the feuding parties were arrested, while the others escaped at the sight of security forces. The injured persons were carried to Razi and Jahra Hospitals respectively. The case has been registered for investigation.

Man sells wife’s building: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti man for selling a building belonging to his wife at half the original price, reports Al-Anba daily.
In her complaint to the Salhiya Police Station she said she had given a power of attorney to her husband to complete some transactions and she was shocked when she found the man had sold a building for KD 60,000 — for half the value without her knowledge.

Release ordered: The Interior Minister has ordered the release of all Egyptians who were arrested for causing traffic problems while celebrating Egypt’s victory over Ghana in the African Cup of Nations, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Egyptians will be released after signing a pledge to abide by the laws of the country in future.

Inspector nabbed: Police have arrested a female inspector working at the Central Prison and a Kuwaiti employee of the Ministry of Interior for abusing their authorities, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to police sources the inspector was involved in an argument with a Kuwaiti man when she was at a camp. The argument ran out of control and the inspector left the place and returned with the employee from the Interior Ministry.
When the inspector returned with the employee from the Interior Ministry she failed to find the man who was involved in the argument with her, but found his sister.
The employee then beat the sister with a stun gun, handcuffed her and asked her to call her brother.
A friend of the sister called police who responded quickly, arrested the inspector and the employee and referred them to the authorities.

MP files complaint: MP Musallam Al-Barrak through his lawyer Themer Al-Jadei, has filed a complaint with the Attorney-General, accusing unidentified persons of spreading rumors on the website and messages in news rooms of TV channels saying five unidentified people have threatened to kill him, reports Annahar daily.
Al-Jadei added the messages have damaged the reputation of his client and requested police to look for the persons who have sent the messages.

‘Sacking’ delayed: The Ministry of Interior has disclosed the higher authority in the ministry has cancelled a decision to force an unidentified assistant undersecretary of the ministry into retirement for fear the decision may lead to the parliamentary interrogation of the minister, reports Alam Alyawm daily quoting knowledgeable sources.
The daily added the ministry will soon see a reshuffle in all departments. The daily also said 50 lieutenant colonels are expected to be promoted in the near future.
