KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: Anti narcotics officers apprehended an Iraqi liquor peddler, in coordination with the Public Prosecution, following a report received by the Director General of Anti-drugs General Department Brigadier Ahmad Al-Khalifa about activities of the suspect. A team of detectives was assigned to trail the Iraqi, whereas a secret agent sealed a deal with the man to purchase 24 bottles of imported liquor for KD 1,200. He was arrested after delivery of the goods in Salwa, which had been paid with marked police money. He led security operatives to his house in the same area, where about 320 bottles of liquor were found, in addition to KD 113,000.
According to security sources, the Iraqi expatriate confessed the money was proceeds from the liquor trade, which he operated for several years. He went on to name his accomplice as a driver working in one European embassy, who allegedly supplied him with the contraband. Police set a trap for the driver, and he was arrested.
Meanwhile, five bottles of booze were found, after the officers carefully searched inside his vehicle. He admitted to supplying the first suspect with the items. The two culprits, with the seized money, were referred to the authorities for further investigation.
Illegals leave ‘legally’ in sham passport, picture change scam: Immigration detectives, headed by Brigadier Abdullah Al-Rashid and his assistant undersecretary Brigadier Ghazi Al-Lame arrested a three-man gang specialized in issuing fake passports, with valid Kuwaiti entry visas.
The chief detective Brigadier Al-Rashid got wind of activities of the suspects, and informed a security team to track them. The officers, after gathering enough data raided their apartment in Mahboula, where they confessed to the crime, saying they issued fake passports to their compatriots, who must have entered the country with original passports, after which they discarded the original passports containing the visas and changed the pictures to enable the beneficiaries stay in Kuwait for some months or years until they are deported.
This revealed that some of them might have entered the country illegally, yet they returned home through legal procedures. They noted their compatriots who needed to go home paid them for the service. The gang has been referred to the authorities for further investigation.
Expat caught showering after sex with maid : Police arrested an Arab expatriate and a housemaid who were caught having sex inside her sponsor’s house in Rumaithiya. Sponsor of the maid reportedly called police, after he noticed the Arab expatriate having a shower in one of the bathrooms, and later went inside the maid’s room.
The two were found in a compromising position when securitymen arrived in the house, whereas the Arab expatriate tried to resist arrest. The two culprits were referred to Rumaithiya police station, and the case was registered.
