Beating mom drunkard’s habit
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: A Kuwaiti woman told Waha police officers her son consumed alcohol and battered her.
The woman narrated her son returned from worked highly intoxicated, and began to beat her. She added her son had become accustomed to the act, so the officers went ahead to arrest him, and the case was registered.
In an unrelated incident, security operatives in Abu Halifa police station arrested a Kuwaiti citizen who attempted to smuggle hashish to his friend detained at the police station. The suspect pretended to have brought clothes for his friend, but the officers discovered the trick, and went on to search the clothes, where they found hashish in the form of cigarette. He was immediately detained with his friend.
Maid runs with jewelry: A GCC citizen filed a case with Taima police against his absconding Asian housemaid, who reportedly stole jewelry worth KD 5,000 from his home in the same area. The complainant narrated he discovered the jewelry missing at the time the maid ran off. A case has been registered against her, while investigation is in progress to trace her.
In the meantime, police apprehended a Kuwaiti citizen who was found driving under the influence of alcohol, in addition to a bottle of wine discovered inside his car. Moreover, a check on his ID revealed he was wanted for a civil offense. The man has since been referred to the concerned authority.
Motorist kills child: 10-year-old Kuwaiti child died Wednesday morning when a 17-year old motorist hit him in Nadha area. The teenage motorist took the child to Jahra hospital, where he lost his life afterward. The motorist then surrendered himself to police, and the body was sent to the Forensics for autopsy. Security sources said the suspect couldn’t avoid hitting the child when he appeared on the road suddenly. The case has since been registered.
Meanwhile, security operatives from Jahra Directorate apprehended two youths, who were reportedly walking in Naseem area and singing at night. Security operatives spotted them and asked for their identification. It was then they realized the youths were under the influence of alcohol. Security sources added the suspects continued to sing, even in the presence of security operatives. They were detained in Taima police station.
Wanted man nabbed: A Kuwaiti citizen in his forties was arrested for involvement in a previously registered drug-related case and a pending jail term of two years, in addition to possessing 23 narcotic pills on Jamal Abdulnasser St. on Monday.
Security officials on routine patrol duty in the area became suspicious of a vehicle traveling at a high speed and stopped it. They asked for his identity documents and their verification disclosed the charges. A search of his car then revealed the pills.
He was arrested and referred to the authorities for further action.
