418 bottles seized, KD 2,700 stolen
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 26: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant, the Ahmadi police recently raided two apartments in Mahboula and arrested five people — three Indians and two North Koreans — for trafficking in local booze, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Police have confiscated from the men 418 bottles of locally-manufactured booze and referred them to the authorities.
Meanwhile, Hawalli police have arrested two Asians for trafficking in local alcohol, reports Alam Alyawm.
The two Asians parked their car in a suspicious manner near to a school in the area and appeared confused when police approached.
Police seized 20 bottles of local alcohol from the traffickers and referred them to the authorities.

Police negligence: A committee formed by the Ministry of Interior has asked the Director of the Jahra Security Directorate Brigadier Mohammad Al-Enezi for an explanation how some people broke into the area police station. The ministry looks at this incident as negligence on the part of the police, reports Alam Alyawm daily quoting knowledgeable security sources.
Meanwhile, the ministry is also interrogating the Director of the Hawalli Security Directorate Brigadier Abdullatif Al-Wuhaib for releasing an unidentified VIP who was in custody of police for consuming alcohol and shooting in the air.
The Brigadier is also being questioned about the publication of photos of people — who were arrested during a raid on two apartments — without taking permission from the ministry.
Juveniles nabbed: Police have arrested two Kuwaiti juveniles for attempting to break into a school in the suburb of Abdullah Al-Mubarak, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The suspects were caught by the guard of the school and handed over to police.
KD 2,700 stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar who allegedly broke the side glass of a vehicle belonging to a Kuwaiti woman in Sulaibikhat and escaped with KD 2,700, reports Al-Rai daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.
