Egyptians in drug trade Police gets tough with ‘stuntmen’

Three Egyptian expatriates were arrested Friday evening for the possession and sale of hashish.
Acting on information, the Director General of Anti-Drug Department Brigadier Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khalifa formed a team to investigate the case. One of the suspects, an engineer who earns KD 1,400 per month, was lured into selling two fingers of hashish for KD 100 to an undercover agent. He was arrested once the transaction was carried out using marked police notes.
The arrested Egyptian confessed to selling the hashish as a favor to his unemployed brother and led the officials to his house. The brother was duly arrested and half a kilo of hashish was found in his apartment. He, in turn, led the officials to the third member in their operation, a shawarma chef. The officials raided his apartment in Jahra, and less than hour later, confiscated one kilo of hashish hidden in a laptop bag under a shawarma grill and arrested the chef.
During interrogation, the chef confessed that he was working for an inmate at the Central Jail. A case was registered.

Police gets tough with ‘stuntmen’ : Jahra Security Directorate has intensified its campaign against reckless youths who perform car stunts on the road and endanger not only their lives but also that of other motorists.
A reliable source from the directorate disclosed a directive to intensify the campaign was issued after the country witnessed heavy rainfall recently. He added the campaign resulted in the arrest of 58 reckless drivers and confiscation of 68 vehicles used to perform stunts on the road. He confirmed the campaign will continue throughout the governorate to track down reckless drivers and protect the residents.
Meanwhile, police also arrested 13 persons for loitering around a school for girls in Jahra and summoned students who damaged police vehicles three days ago for questioning.
On the other hand, Ahmadi securitymen seized 32 vehicles and issued several traffic citations on the same day. They also confiscated five other vehicles used for performing car stunts in various parts of the governorate.
