Immigration staffer helps his kin owner of firm get over 35 visas
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: The Director-General of the General Immigration Investigation Department Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al-Rashed Thursday referred a civilian employee to the Public Prosecution for his involvement in forgery, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the man took advantage of his position at the Jahra Immigration Department and helped one of his relatives who owns a company to get over 35 visas for expatriates in violation of a law.
The reports also show two other employees working at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor are involved in the illegal activity.
According to a security source Brigadier Al-Rashed acting on information ordered an inquiry into the activities of the company and discovered the company based on the strength of its activities can only hire five workers but the relative issued visas for 40 expatriates.
During interrogation the employee is said to have admitted to the charge. Investigations are underway to arrest the two other employees.
Two citizens held for drugs: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested two Kuwaitis for possessing drugs, reports Arrouiah daily.
According to a security source the men were driving in the Mubarak Al-Kabir governorate and they were ordered to pull over by a police patrol.
When police asked the men to show their ID, both men looked confused. Police then searched the car and found three injections filled with drugs ready for use.
The suspects have been referred to the concerned authority.
