KUWAIT CITY, Jan. 20: It was action, action,  and loads of action throughout the day at the Handball Gym in Kazma in Adailiya, Friday when the Filipino Badminton Club in Kuwait (FILBACK) Inter-Commercial League 2010 continued its mouth-watering matches with solid smashes and over-the-net cross court drop shots dominating the proceedings.
This week saw Jabbar Farooqi lead the standings with 233 points while Noor had 184 points in Men’s Higher and Lower O. Men’s Higher and Lower A was seeing the toughest competition so far with Michael del Pilar on 310 points and Roy Satorre on 329 points while Jonathan Munalem and Rey Lubaton were in control in Men’s Higher and Lower B event with 254 and 276 points respectively.

Cesar Isidro stayed on top of the class in Men’s Higher C with 306 points with Butch Bagahansol dominating the lower class with 280 points, Ladies B Higher and Lower class was led by Mercy Joy Villanueva with 192 points and Regina Casano 201 points while the Ladies Higher and Lower C category were being ruled by Rosita Arroyo on 243 points and Venus Paquizasel 242 points.

Men’s O
In Men’s O Chandra Mouli and Amith Balakrishnan tamed Pushkaraj Altekar and James 21-15, 21-18, D.G. Supul and Mohammad Nadeem outclassed the good pair of Dr. Manimara “Doc Mani” Chozhan and Olan Patriarca 21-18, 15-21, 21-19 and Chandra Mouli and Anil thrashed Mathew Jacob and Nestor Matondo 21-12, 21-13.
Other matches in the same class saw Jabbar Farooqi and Noor overpower Faheem Contractor and Sumesh Daga 21-15, 21-15, while Doc Mani and Ravi were made to sweat before they could edge Mathew Jacob and Amith Balakrishnan 17-21, 21-19, 21-19, Jabbar and Sumesh Daga outlasted D.G. Supul and Olan Patriarca 21-12, 19-21, 21-17, Faheem Contractor and Noor hammered Chandra Mouli and Nestor Matondo 21-18, 21-10, and Pushkaraj Altekar and Noor overcame Mathew Jacob and Mohammad Nadeem 14-21, 21-16, 21-10.

Men’s A
FILBACK Director Leo Regner and Donald Briones outlasted Michael del Pilar and Thajik Umeer 21-7, 18-21, 23-21, Vijay and Harinath overcame Leo Regner and Thajik Umeer 24-22, 21-14, Donald Briones and Harinath outclassed FILBACK Tournament Director Ed Buensuceso and Roy Satorre in a seesaw battle 21-16, 18-21, 21-17 and Francis Enriquez and Roy Satorre thumped Richard Amoto and Donald Briones 21-14, 21-17.
In control of Men’s Higher A was Michael del Pilar when he was paired with Edison dela Cruz and crushed Vijay and James Briones in  back to back sets 21-19, 21-19,  while Harinath and James Briones edged Ed Buensuceso and Edison dela Cruz 19-21, 21-14, 21-18, Ramil Cadano and Roy Satorre overwhelmed Francis Enriquez and Nestor Farinas 21-18, 21-14, Chan Basha Shaik and Edison dela Cruz outlasted Richard Amoto and Thajik Umeer 15-21, 21-13, 21-19 and Ramil Cadano and Nestor Farinas fought for every  point to overcome Leo Regner and Ray Allan Sayoto 21-8, 25-23.
Richard Amoto and Edison dela Cruz brushed aside Michael del Pilar and Ray Allan Sayoto 23-21, 21-15, Chan Basha Shaik and Nestor Farinas tamed Francis Enriquez and Thajik Umeer 21-15, 21-19, Chan Basha Shaik and Roy Satorre thumped Ramil Cadano and James Briones 21-12, 21-10 and Nestor Farinas and Thajik Umeer overwhelmed Ed Buensuceso and Ray Allan Sayoto 21-19, 23-21.

Men’s B
In Men’s B, Romeo Derequito and Rafiq outclassed Roger Jimenez and Joel Aguirre 20-22, 21-12, 21-11, while Jess Sibunga Jr. and Leandro de Jesus outclassed Bernard Balungaya and Joel Aguirre 21-15, 22-20, 21-9, and Romeo Derequito and Renato Calanog edged Rasheed and Kannan 20-22, 21-15, 21-11.
FILBACK Founding Chairman Caloy Abesamis and Renato Calanog thumped Jess Sibunga Jr. and Ambali in back to back sets 21-12, 21-12, Rasheed and Norman Calina outlasted Caloy “FILBACK Daddy” Abesamis and Sid Ladia 16-21, 23-21, 21-13, Roger Jimenez and Marc Arroyo tamed Robert Gubat and Sid Ladia 21-15, 21-13 and Robert Gubat and Joel Aguirre thrashed Jonathan Munalem and Ambali 21-10, 21-11.

In Men’s C,  Gomer Imperial and Romeo Longalong overpowered Melvin Magat and C.S. Priyadh 21-8, 21-15, Srinivas and Beth Buensuceso outclassed W.P. Asela and Romeo Longalong 19-21, 21-13, 21-12 and Gomer Imperial and Daisy Balungaya overcome Jeth Adlawan and Beck-Beck Orje 21-9, 21-19.
On the other hand, Rey Quedeng and Daisy Balungaya outlasted Paul Lozano and C.S. Ladies B event Aileen Zoreta and Regina Casano wasted no effort to overwhelm Lyn Roca and Grace Daulo 21-19, 21-15, Norma Guillermo and Biberly Malvar outclassed Lyn Roca and Mayeen “FILBACK Mommy” Mayeen Abesamis 22-24, 21-15, 21-5 and Cherrylou Nicolas and Lyn Pascua outlasted Aileen Zoreta and Lourdes Orbase 21-18, 23-21, 21-11.
Wearing the crown so far, Mercy Joy Villanueva and Peachy Quinones thrashed Norma Guillermo and Paz Carlos 21-14, 21-7, Mercy Joy Villanueva and Ruby Rose Miranda outclassed Meliza Titong and Regina Casano 21-12, 18-21, 21-13 and Cherrylou Nicolas and Paz Carlos outlasted Laura Baldemoro and Grace Daulo 15-21, 24-22, 21-18.
Meanwhile, Lyn Pascua and Lourdes Orbase thumped Abelyn Sayoto and Peachy Quinones 21-15, 21-14, Laura Baldemoro and Ruby Rose Miranda outclassed Meliza Titong and Mayeen “FILBACK Mommy” Abesamis in a seesaw battle 19-21, 21-8, 21-18 while Biberly Malvar and Peachy Quinones tamed Abelyn Sayoto and Regina Casano 20-22, 21-11, 21-13.

Ladies C
In Ladies C,  Marie Grace Calungsod and Aileen Buenaventura thumped Jeves Cruz and Frenel Gene Garcia 21-9, 21-17, Marie Grace Calungsod and Helda Morales tamed Cristina Baylon and Lerma Tolentino 21-6, 21-18 while Jeves Cruz and Venus Paquizasel overpowered Cristina Baylon and Nahed Dali 21-11, 21-12.
Rosita Arroyo and Vanessa Hinolan were made to sweat before they could edge Maribeth Santua and Rosalie Galvez 17-21, 21-18, 24-22, Marie Grace Calungsod and Frenel Gene Garcia overwhelmed Maribeth Santua and Janet Gravador 21-12, 21-11, Cristina Baylon and Aileen Buenaventura overpowered Bebsy Briones and Chato Guillermo 21-12, 21-19 and Cherry Manaytay and Vanessa Hinolan overcame Rosita Arroyo and Janet Gravador 21-13, 21-20.

On the other hand, Jeves Cruz and Rosalie Galvez crushed Vhenie Ilejay and Malou Lubaton 21-10, 21-8, Joan Ilejay and Frenel Gene Garcia thumped Bebsy Briones and Jazella Ilejay 21-10, 21-17, Rosita Arroyo and Aileen Buenaventura overcame Cherryl Manaytay and Chato Guillermo 22-20, 21-15 and Vhenie Ilejay and Venus Paquizasel thrashed Joan Ilejay and Jazella Ilejay 21-12, 21-18.
Meanwhile, Marie Grace Calungsod and Malou Lubaton outlasted Fe Isabel Adarne and Rosalie Galvez 21-16, 11-21, 21-19 after losing the second and fighting back in the third,  Maricris Malilay and Frenel Gene Garcia outclassed Cherryl Manaytay and Janet Gravador 24-25, 21-18 21-18 but the match was closer than the score indicates as both the pairs fought all the way until the game was finished,  and Maricris Malilay and Venus Paquizasel found the going easy to crush Bebsy Briones and Aileen Buenaventura 21-5, 21-15.
