Farwaniya Security Directorate arrested 20 Asian men and women, during their raid of suspicious flats
Top journalist, many girls arrested drunk from flat Prostitutes, clients held
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 17:: Acting on information and armed with a warrant, securitymen raided an apartment in Maidan Hawalli and arrested a well-known journalist and a number of girls and men for drinking alcohol and causing disturbance to neighbors, reports Al-Shahed daily. The journalist and the party goers were allegedly high on liquor at the time of the arrest and the journalist humiliated police on duty.
All those arrested have been referred to a police station. The raiding party has reportedly confiscated a number of bottles of whisky from the apartment.
It is reported that a senior officer intervened to release the journalist and it is expected he would be freed shortly.
Threat to kill kids: A man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been arrested by police for threatening to kill his six children, reports Al-Rai daily. The incident happened in Rumaithiya.
According to security sources an unidentified woman, believed to the ex-wife of the man called police when the man who was armed with a pair of scissors threatened to stab his children.
The Hawalli police rushed to the spot and talked to the man and convinced him to surrender.
The man has been referred to the police station for interrogation.
Prostitutes, clients held: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, the Farwaniya police recently raided a number of apartments in Hassawi and arrested 30 Asian prostitutes and some men who had gone to seek pleasure, reports Al-Shahed daily.
However, the women - most of whom are runaway maids - claim they had been kidnapped by flesh traders under some or the other pretext and forced into prostitution. All those arrested have been referred to the authorities.
In another incident, a night patrol team affiliated to the Farwaniya Security Directorate arrested 20 Asian men and women, during their raid of suspicious flats in Farwaniya and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh areas. Cases of absconding had reportedly been registered against most of the suspects. They were referred to the authorities for necessary action. (photos shown above)
30 licenses pulled: The Ahmadi traffic police during an ongoing campaign against the residence law violators, vice and reckless motorists have issued 450 traffic citations, impounded 13 vehicles and confiscated 30 driving licenses, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Missing woman found: Special duty squad, affiliated to the Salmiya Police Station has, ‘found’ the unidentified Belarusian woman, on whom a missing persons report had been filed by her family with the Rawdah Police Station, reports Al-Dar daily.
Without going into details the daily said the woman was seized while driving along the Restaurants Street at a late evening hour.
