‘Mishaps rising’ 7 hurt in accidents
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 17, (KUNA): The Interior Ministry warned on Sunday that the rise of the number of car accidents causing heavy losses in humans and properties has become “catastrophic and alarming.” Official spokesman of the Interior Ministry Colonel Mohammad Al-Saber, in a press statement, expressed particular concern at the increase in cars pulling boats or other vehicles without safety precautions, thus causing accidents that claim many lives.
He advised such motorists to ensure that vehicles being towed are well connected and will not go loose on the road.
New regulations will be issued soon for towing vehicles.
7 hurt in accidents : Several traffic accidents in different parts of the country in the last 24 hours resulted in injury to seven persons.
A two-vehicle collision on 6th Ring Road opposite Sabah Al-Nasser area resulted in the injury of an Afghani national aged 36 years.
Security officials and paramedics rushed to the scene on receiving information about the accident and referred him to Farwaniya Hospital.
Meanwhile, an Egyptian expatriate aged 52 years sustained injuries and fractures to his right hand and neck when he was knocked down by a motorist in Salmiya.
He was referred to Mubarak Hospital by paramedics and a case was registered.
On the other hand, a Saudi national and an Arab expatriate sustained injuries when they were hit by a motorist on 4th Ring Road.
They were referred to Sabah Hospital by paramedics and a case was registered.
In a similar incident, an Indian expatriate aged 46 years sustained a fracture to his left leg after he was knocked down by an Arab expatriate.
He was referred to Sabah Hospital by paramedics and a case was registered.
Also, a two-vehicle collision in Umm Al-Haiman resulted in the injury of a Kuwaiti and a GCC citizen.
They were referred to Adan Hospital by paramedics and a case was registered.
