KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16: An Asian maid filed a complaint against her Kuwaiti boyfriend at the Waha police station after he physically assaulted her in front of her sponsor’s house before escaping from the scene.
According to the maid, the reason behind the assault was a disagreement that took place between them. Investigations are on to find and summon the citizen for interrogation.

Many men, women held in raid on vice: A night patrol team affiliated to the Capital Security Directorate carried out a massive inspection campaign in the governorate recently, resulting in the arrest of six men and eight women for engaging in immoral activities, six peddlers for selling pornographic CDs and liquor, and two Asians for gambling on Fahad Al-Salem Street.
During the raid, the team also confiscated 1,500 pirated CDs and 200 bottles of alcohol.
The arrested persons were referred to the authorities for the necessary legal action.

Woman caught drunk: Security operatives from the Hawally directorate apprehended a woman under the influence of alcohol, who was also a residency law violator.
She was arrested during a routine patrol duty by officials in the area and was referred to the authorities.

Women in calls trade: Upon instructions from the Director of Ahmadi Security Directorate Brigadier Abdul-Fatah Al-Ali, the Fahaheel police during a crackdown on vice and residence law violators have arrested 18 Asians including three women for stealing telephone lines and offering international calls, reports Al-Anba daily.
This came during a raid on 12 apartments in Mangaf. During the raid police have seized from the illegal call service providers more than hundred telephone sets, computers and a number of fast Internet connection devices and referred them to the authorities.

One hurt in fight: A Kuwaiti citizen aged 18 years was referred to Mubarak Hospital by paramedics Friday night after he was physically attacked by his compatriot in front of a cooperative society in South Surra.
According to a security source, the fight took place as the result of pervious disagreements between the two youths that turned ugly. A case was registered.

Security cameras stolen: A retired officer from the Ministry of Interior filed a case at the police station, accusing unidentified persons of breaking and entering into his house and stealing the security cameras.
The officer told the officials that he noticed the theft when he was returning home from a visit outside. Investigations are underway to find and arrest the thieves.

Maid hurt in fire: An Asian maid sustained burns to her feet and back Friday night when a fire broke out in the kitchen of her sponsor’s house in Andalous.
According to sources, the maid was cooking when the fire broke out, resulting in the burns. She was referred to Sabah Hospital for treatment, while the fire was extinguished immediately. A case was registered.

WDemolition work begins:  The Anti-Encroachment Committee has resumed its campaign to remove illegal structures, resulting in the demolition of 367 structures built on state properties, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.
Sources said the committee deployed demolition teams to 180 residential areas and 182 commercial, investment and trade areas.  Sources disclosed the Ahmadi team removed 32 illegal structures in Al-Riqqa, while the Jahra team demolished 61 illegal structures in Naeem.  Sources added the Hawally team removed 35 illegal structures in Jabriya and the Farwaniya team removed 16 similar structures in Firdous.
Sources confirmed the demolition teams also removed illegal structures in the investment, commercial and trade areas - 34 in Kheitan, 45 in Jahra, 51 in Rai and 52 in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
