Police raid mini alcohol factory Night patrol team arrests 2 for theft
Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, the Farwaniya police raided an apartment in the area and arrested two Asians - an Indian and a North Korean - for manufacturing alcohol, reports Arrouiah daily.
According to a security source information received by police indicated the bootleggers had turned their apartment into a mini alcohol factory. They were also providing home-delivery service to prevent being caught by police.
When police raided the apartment they found the liquor manufacturing equipment and raw material and 200 bottles of booze which were hidden in two cars. The suspects with the seized contraband have been referred to the authorities.
Night patrol team arrests 2 for theft: A team of night patrol officers attached to the Jahra Command arrested two Asians while they were stealing iron rods at the Amghara scrapyard Thursday evening.
The officers were on a routine patrol within the vicinity when they noticed the vehicle carrying the loot was rushing to get out of the place, so they ordered the driver to pull over for a check, which led to discovery of the stolen items. The suspects have since been referred to the authority for further investigation.
