Liquor, drugs found on Indian; expat dies in fall
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: An Indian expatriate in his thirties died after he fell from a height from a building under construction in Abdullah Mubarak area.
Security officials and paramedics rushed to the scene on receiving information about the incident and declared him dead after an examination. His remains was referred to the Forensic Department for an autopsy and initial investigations suggested he may have died after losing his balance while on duty at the site.
Meanwhile, an Indian expatriate was arrested in possession of local liquor and drugs in Hassawi on Thursday.
Security officials on routine patrol duty in the area observed suspicious behavior on the part of the expatriate in front of a grocery store and searched him. He was arrested after the contraband was found in his bag and was referred to the authorities for further action.
On the other hand, an Indian child aged 3 years sustained severe burns when hot oil fell on his body in Farwaniya.
Security officials and paramedics rushed to the scene on receiving information about the incident and rushed the toddler to the Intensive Care Unit at Farwaniya Hospital. A case was registered to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In another story, a Kuwaiti citizen aged 44 years registered a case at the Rumaithiya police station, accusing unidentified persons of stealing her vehicle on Thursday.
The woman informed officials that she discovered the theft when she was leaving her house for work. The officials took down details of the incident and circulated the registration number of the vehicle to all checkpoints. Investigations are on to find and arrest the thieves.
In an unrelated story, a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for involvement in a finance-related crime concerning a sum of KD 21,000 in Fahaheel.
Security officials at a checkpoint in Fahaheel on Thursday noticed flustered behavior on the part of the citizen and stopped his vehicle. A verification of his identity documents revealed previously registered charges against him and he was referred to the authorities for further action.
Also, an Indian expatriate sustained several injuries in a fight with three Bangladeshi nationals in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh on Thursday.
Security officials on routine patrol duty in the area observed the fight and rushed to stop it. While the Indian was referred to Farwaniya Hospital, the other three involved were arrested and referred to the authorities for interrogation. A case was registered.
