Woman deported for prostitution returns on forged passport
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12: Personnel from the General Department for Immigration have arrested an unidentified Egyptian woman for entering the country on a forged passport, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to reports the woman was deported from the country two months ago for practicing prostitution.
During interrogation the woman is said to have admitted to the charge. Police investigations show the suspect’s sister lives in Kuwait and she helped her enter the country on a visit visa after the woman managed to get a passport in Egypt in another name.
Khaja gets jail: The Misde-meanor Court has sentenced the former undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications Hammed Khaja to three years imprisonment for issuing a dud cheque, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports Khaja had issued a cheque for one million dinars which bounced due to lack of funds.
Smuggler caught: The Cust-oms officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested a young Egyptian man for attempting to smuggle hashish and bottles of booze into the country, reports Al-Rai daily.
The man and the contraband have been referred to the authorities.
Trio caught drunk: The Ahm-adi police have arrested three Kuwaitis — two women and one man — for drinking alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The three were caught red-handed as they left an apartment in Fahaheel.
The man has been referred to the concerned authorities for legal action. The daily made no further mention of the women.
