it is nature not habit

WE recently witnessed an unprecedented step taken by some lawmakers who announced that more than 10 of their colleagues are ready to vote on a no-confidence motion against Minister of Oil and Information Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. This happens only in Kuwait where the MPs declare their readiness to vote on a no-confidence motion prior to the grilling of the concerned minister.

This is a shocking move because in other parts of the world the ministers usually face a parliamentary inquest first, then the MPs assess results of the proceedings before taking a decision on whether to vote on the no-confidence motion or not. Obviously, our lawmakers have been implementing new regulations in this regard. We cannot help but laugh at this strange development which should be included in the encyclopedia of eccentric events in the world.

The MPs, who promised to comply with the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, were lying as some of them cannot survive in an environment free from all forms of crises and aggravation. A popular adage, which says “it is nature not habit”, best describes this situation. Forgive us!
